I used Rover for the first time this…
I used Rover for the first time this past weekend. I had several issues with my pets stay: 1) we were not invited into the sitters home when we went for our meet and greet or when we took our dog to be dropped off. This should have been a red flag. (we were not allowed in the home when we picked him up either). Each time, the sitter met us outside. 2) the only pictures we received were daily videos of our dog outside using the bathroom. There are no pictures of him on the inside of the house. 3) when we picked our dog up, he was almost lethargic, as if he had been sedated. He is a nervous car rider, never sitting still. He was asleep within a couple of minutes of being in the car and was hard to rouse. 4) the sitter said his favorite place to be was on her sofa. However, after his stay when I looked at her site, she said that pets are not allowed on the furniture. 5) one of her pictures shows a dog standing in the doorway of a shed. In that shed were dog crates with blankets in them. I did a chat with Rover and actually called and talked to a Rover trust and safety agent. I was told that they do not go out to homes to investigate. They would call the sitter and ask them if these things happened. I will never use Rover again.
