Awful greedy company with abysmal customer service. Sitters are left unpaid with absolutely zero support.

Terrible greedy company have ruined Cat In A Flat. They charge customer a much higher booking fee, as well as cancellation fees, and offer far less flexibility around when you can pay for bookings (now have to pay at booking even if it’s not for months). I’m an experienced sitter with a large client base build up over 6 years at CIAF but will be going independent rather than working with this money grabbing company. Despite so many positive reviews I’ve not been given “star sitter” status like comparable Rover sitters, putting me at a big disadvantage, not that anyone will be looking on such a dog-centric app for cat sitting, it’s completely at odds with their USP.

The merger of Cat in a Flat with Rover has been a very poor experience. It has erased valuable existing reviews and cat profiles, which were essential for building trust and continuity. The new pricing structure is also unreasonable — charging double for two cats, despite the visit still being the same 30 minutes, feels unjustified and exploitative. On top of that, I am now being shown sitters who are not cat-focused, and many reviews relate primarily to dog sitting, which undermines one of Cat in a Flat’s core strengths: a platform dedicated to cat care. Please restore what made Cat in a Flat distinct and address these issues urgently. Otherwise, you risk losing a significant number of loyal customers and sitters.

Hunter Abigail deyerle from salem va abused my cat, she's employed by Rover . They dont do back ground checks and will ask for information, that is illegal to provide. She has also stolen property from me because she access to my home. All anyone needs to do is ask for her, video the time time she's in YOUR home and sue her and them. She will also tell you she can save you 30% by cutting Rover out and just calling her. She is illegally running a animal daycare and will steal gold, diamonds, and any cash you have in the house

An bungled merge with Cat In A Flat app. The Rover app is not designed for cat sitting, the fees are much higher and the requirements (e.g. selecting a timeslot, staying 30mins min) are not compatible with cats. Not to mention there were no comms regarding the merger, just logged in one day unable to access upcoming bookings, messages and no reviews on my profile - a crazy way to roll out such a huge update.

Application peu transparente. On vous débite 14€ de frais de dossier sans préciser clairement qu’ils ne sont non remboursables si ce ce dernier reste incomplet. Aucun mail de confirmation de paiement ni de suivi automatique sur l’avancement de la vérification n’est envoyé. J’ai dû prendre l’initiative de contacter le support client pour avoir des nouvelles et comprendre que mon profil était incomplet et que la vérification n’irait pas plus loin. Le support client m’indique que je n’aurais pas de remboursement. A fuir !

Miserable app, focused on extracting money only to themselves and mistreating its customers: animals and people. Destroyed CatintheFlat - merger? Rover eliminated it by force! Support services are more like chatbots don't care neither about pets, nor people. Rover is an app designed for losers by losers. If you are a loser you will definitely enjoy it..Like Lexie..

I've been a cat sitter on Cat in a flat for a number of years. I've done over 200 bookings, with over 70 owners and a number of repeat clients. CIAF recently merged with Rover and it's been a total faff from the start. Everything is convoluted and it's like they just thought it'd be all the same cos it's just pets. CIAF felt like a supportive, small, local community. Rover feels anonymous, competitive and driven by profit (pay to be at the top of search results! Charge extra for everything!). There's been no onboarding for owners/sitters. The only comms that I and my cat clients got was a tiny notification on the CIAF site with a FAQ that didn't contain much.
