Your software is not user-friendly
Your software is not user-friendly. I work on computers all day. It's hard to communicate. You need sorting functionality for your sitters. Hard to delete anything. The text comes in unidentifiable, so if I've reached out to a few and communicated, I can't tell who I am replying to.

They need to screen
They need to screen, or test pet caregivers before they are allowed to offer services. It seems like a crap shoot.

We have very high standards for our sitters and dog walkers—less than 20 percent are approved to list their services on Rover. Our team reviews each sitter and dog walker profile submission with a focus on dog safety. Profiles detail a prospective sitter or dog walkers’ experience and background, as well as photos, references and third-party verifications. Each new sitter and dog walker also completes a general background check.

Interview the sitter carefully
I needed to carefully meet and talk to the dog sitters who boarded. Some did not let you see their home. Some had on their page that the dogs can be free in the house but when we saw it, the dogs were in cages and let out every hour. It wasn’t easy to find someone we felt we could trust.

Good at providing a vehicle to obtain pet keeping services but ease of technology use is lacking
Good at providing a vehicle to obtain good pet keeping services, however the online platform needs improvement. The platform doesn't provide enough flexibility for various visitation scenarios. For example, I was traveling for two weeks and wanted a drop-in every other day. The platform could not handle that request and much more time & effort was required by both parties to make it work out.

The pet sitters have been great; the Rover process, needs work.
This was my first time using Rover and I found some great options for watching my dog. The Meet and Greets we had were very helpful in deciding who would work best with our dog. The issues I have are mostly with the app. It was very confusing to use. Once I selected the pet sitter, I found it hard to find him again. I would receive an email from the sitter and I would respond. Then, later, if I wrote and email back, it apparently wasn't done the way Rover wanted it to be done. I have received two admonishments from Rover that I was not to contact the sitters directly, but only through them. I thought I had done this! So, although I do enjoy the option of finding a vetted pet sitter, it should be much easier to communicate with them and not be accused of trying to go around their system, doing private emails when I hadn't.

I like that the pet sitters are vetted…
I like that the pet sitters are vetted and don't have to worry about a stranger in my house and taking care of my pets. The thing I like the least,in fact, REALLY NEEDS to improve is the website. It is very difficult if not impossible to change dates or anything else. Others have complained about the website also, from what I understand.

Difficulty with website
I frequently have difficulty making reservations and contacting the sitter. While overseas, I was not able to return a message to the sitter and the Rover site said that I was locked out and should call in. I was in Cambodia and chose not to use my time that way. After a few days, I was able to respond to sitter again. Not the 1st time this has happened. I even have the steps written down for using the site.

It looks like one of our agents helped you with resolving a duplicate account when you contacted us in March, which should hopefully eliminate the issue of being locked out of your account moving forward. If you do experience this issue again please let us know and we can troubleshoot some more. While the quickest way to resolve issues is reaching out to our customer service line (available 24/7 at 888-453-7889) it is very understandable that you would not want to take time out of your trip to place a phone call.
