I was trying to hire a dog walker since I was having surgery. The contacts promised to get in touch but I guess you could say, "ghosted." One did show up as I wanted him to meet my dog and myself. He walked my dog, I paid him, tipped him. Never heard from him again. UNRELIABLE people.

Some of the people on the app are not qualified to look after pets no training anyone can join and write that they will be great with your pet. I searched for a pet sitter found one that was qualified and had a lot of clients and good reviews. On the day of her 1st appointment for meet and greet the day before she would be sitting. She just didn’t turn up no contact just no show, when I messaged and politely asked if she was still coming she was rude saying no, then cancelled us for the sitting the next day. When I went on to put a review on it wouldn’t let me. So if the sitters just don’t turn up and let you down last min and cancel the appointments on the app you can’t do a review of that person so the 4* review she had was false she could do this all the times but you can’t record that anywhere. I reported her to customer services who just said they would investigate. Nothing has been done. Edit: There hasn’t been an automatic review left on her review, I did also contact you about this with no outcome. I got generic email sent back each time.

Would give negative stars if I could. I had a 5.0 rating from 29 recurring sitters. The last people that I watched their dogs for scammed me did not pay me and did not follow (rover) regulations however I was then blocked as a Sitter because a person came by their home to get their keys from me. They made up some lie about me doing drugs at their home, (rover) would not show me the evidence and just said I am banned as a sitter for life when I was a very reliable and consistent Sitter. I was booked over and over and over again for five years through Rover. I took excellent care of their dogs, and they did not pay me, and I stupidly agreed for them to let them pay me outside of the app which they never did. I don’t understand why Rover finds this acceptable and say that I broke the rules because a person came to get their keys from the house, and that was the only reason that I was kicked out. Then I was called by them and they were belligerently screaming at me from a different country to get out of their house because they saw a person come get their keys from their doorbell camera. They were not staying the night or visiting or anything, and it had nothing to do with the safety or wellness of their dogs or their house. I then had to quickly collect stuff and I had left some things behind. They refused to give them to me, and I had my dogs medication who they knew I had with me (we did a meet and greet prior with my dog) and I needed that back. I was just requesting stuff back that was left behind. They screamed at me and the cops and the cops said I was “harassing them” when I was standing there saying and doing absolutely nothing. FYI, the cops also suck in Denver and they’re not going to protect you - so that’s a sidebar. Then, I asked the rover “customer service” person why and what evidence and she wouldn’t share it with me. She couldn’t because it was fake and made up so this couple could scam me. I don’t understand also why her reasoning behind banning me as a sitter was I didn’t pay through the app. These people didn’t pay me through the app either, so they were also abusing the app according to the same expectation and I did not get paid and actually told me that they did this before. That should’ve been a red flag that I should’ve listened to. Furthermore, my dog was literally neglected when I used rover in a previous year for a sitter to take care of my dog. She did not take care of her. I paid her through the app and followed all the rules and I had to spend $500 to repair my house because my dog was neglected and left alone. She was alone and scratching at the door trying to escape and I had to pay to repair it and the Sitter did nothing to show remorse or fix it. She is still on the app. If Rover has a problem with the fact that I agreed that they pay me outside the app because they booked me or found me because I had a perfect review, I don’t understand why this insane couple is allowed to still be on the app. When my dog was neglected and left alone for days,I took her to the vet when I was home and my dog had lost 5 pounds. I know for a fact that that person is still an active sitter on Rover. I got no restitution from (rover) I was kicked off Rover because I was scammed and the people did not follow the rules of Rover that hired me and found me and picked me because I had a five star review. Do not trust (rover) they abandoned me both when my dog could have died while I was out of town because a sitter was paid to neglect my dog, and I got no restitution, and I was not paid to take care of three dogs and was kicked off the app when I am wanted by sitters and respected by sitters and known to be an excellent sitter.

Rover has taken on Cat in the Flat Previously as a cat sitter I was getting 2-5 jobs a month with new customers. Since the take over has happened I have had zero. They have taken the ability to respond to job request to gain new clients. As well as this the app is not user friendly and there has been zero support with the change. Friends who also relied on this income have complained about exact situations with having a lot of work coming in to nothing.

Ich bin Katzensitter. Ursprünglich bei Catinaflat - großartige Plattform. Nun hat Rover diese Plattform übernommen und nichts geht mehr. Das User Interface ist viel zu klobig, zu kompliziert, viel zu viele Klicks um irgendwas hinzukriegen und am Ende wollen sie auch noch mehr Geld von allen Seiten. Herzlichen Glückwunsch. Alle meine Kunden wollen nicht mehr über dieses Portal arbeiten. Ich auch nicht. Meine Kunden beschweren sich, dass nichts funktioniert und alles überkompliziert sei plötzlich. Tschüss, Rover. Ich bin ehemalige Cat-in-a-flat-Sitterin, und dort ist alles sehr gut gelaufen. Seriöse Abwicklung, nette Kontakte, übersichtliche und einfache Plattform und die Gebühren waren angemessen. Rover ist extrem kompliziert und unübersichtlich. Man hat den Eindruck, es geht nur ums Geld. Für mich ist das Sitten ein Hobby und kleiner Nebenjob in Einem. Die Hälfte der Einnahmen werden jetzt abkassiert. Zudem steht die Hundebetreuung stark im Vordergrung, Katzensitter und auch Besitzer gehen da fast unter. Kundenservice ist Fehlanzeige. Nur KI. Und dafür bezahlt man so hohe Gebühren.

I used Rover.com for the first time. I booked a sitter (Keita B from Lawty, Fl) to stay in my home with my cat for 3 days & 2 nights. In that time she managed to stay awake for about 5 hours a day. She slept all day and got up generally around 9pm, went back to sleep around 1 am. These are not my pets feeding hours. Being disgusted by what happened in my home for that 3 days I first gave her a bad review (which has yet to be added to her profile) then I contacted Rover through text chat. Someone did respond and I was given my money back. About a week later I received an email from Lawrence asking me what happened. I sent a lengthy email with supporting documentation as to my complaint (there is more to the complaint than I’m sharing now). He sent an email back stating in BOLD LETTERS that he would follow back up with me in 72 HOURS. A week later no reply from Lawrence. I sent him an email asking if they have concluded my investigation and it’s out come. Days later I get an email from Michael who now wants more proof of what happened. It’s been almost a month (April 1, 2026) since this event and to my knowledge Rover has not removed this sitter from their site. Now again I have documentation that is so damning Rover should have acted immediately Our pets are left to what we hope are a trusting human. Rover I thought was a company that valued our pets and their care. The lack of action on this matter with Rover tells me it’s just a business for them. Leslie B

Ich bin eine ehemalige Catinaflat-Sitterin die infolge Übernahme nun auf Rover ist. Ich kam sozusagen von einer App welche Kontakte vermittelte und auf Vertrauen basierte zu einem Konstrukt welches Dienstleistungsorientiert ist und alles überwacht / trackt und dadurch vieles komplizierter macht als notwendig. Das nimmt mir als Sitter extrem die Motivation und Freude am Job, bzw. Hobbie und entspricht nicht wirklich meinen Werten. Als Katzenbesitzerin wünsche ich mir vertrauensvolle Sitter mit Motivation und keine die nur des Geldes wegen eine Dienstleistung anbieten.
