People = great, fees = WTH
My pet sitter was fabulous but the exorbitant fees that Rover takes are CRAZY. I feel bad because I liked my sitter a lot but probably will look elsewhere for another pet sitter because I paid an extra 10% to Rover for what? I can post on petsitter.com for free. The only reason I used this service is I am new to the area. I wish I could use my last pet sitter without having to pay Rover on top of everything else.

The individual who we contacted to watch our dog.
The individual who we contacted to watch our dog was listed with Rover.Although she indicated initially she was interested in watching our dog when we tried to set up a meet and greet, she either canceled or postponed these appointments several times until she stopped responding to our communications Overrall,we found her behavior unprofessional and counterproductive

Hello, we're so sorry for that experience. We do send out regular reminders to sitters to update their availability and their accounts are affected if they do not. We are also currently testing more reminder options! If you haven't already you can message up to ten different sitters a day. That way you can find the perfect match for you and your pet.

Sitter had a party and made a mess
Hired my very first caretaker for an overnight trip. The cameras caught at least 8 people entering my property with cases of beer and they didn’t leave until 5am. Came home to liquor bottles opened, champagne on the floor and feces in the toilet. Rover customer service was diligent and immediately made right to the situation.

Hard to find dog care, inconsistent calender availibility
Hard to find sitters, Pet Sitters show available and then reply they are not, going out of town or overbooked. And you go through this one by one for days until you find someone. Don't know about others but I already have limited time.

Sometimes sitter availability is based on best fit- if they are already boarding several large dogs for instance, they may not want to take another for capacity. However, if there are several small dogs it may not make sense to take a larger dog for safety reasons. Your website is the worst
Your website is the worst, it's very user unfriendly. I keep getting billed for both of my pets going to doggy day care when one pet is a cat. I tried numerous times to correct this on your site which is impossible. But I love most of the sitters I've met and will continue to fight with your website.

Very poor in responses from listed…
Very poor in responses from listed sitters. Sent 5 requests in one day knowing not everyone would be able to accept and I wanted options. Little did I know that I would receive ZERO responses within 24 hours. Then only received responses after I sent a follow up message to make sure my original had been seen. Still did not hear back from all of them. And the responses I received were that they no longer offer services or haven’t updated their calendar. I’ve had such great experiences where I used to live in Northern Virginia. But this new area is really lacking in quality sitters. I will probably start using a kennel because they would be more reliable when services are needed.

In my opinion
In my opinion, the rover violates the right to a decent wage. The rover turned out to be a direct intermediary in providing a service that is well below the minimum wage. In the US, there is a statutory minimum wage per hour, pay below this level is not allowed. It was possible to create another platform, but you chose this path. The second minus is Rover commissions, 20-25% of earnings, even if the client re-applies, and many professionals go to other platforms. Thirdly, this is a cheap service that does not correspond to the minimum wage, they take a lot of dogs, for an apartment that is not designed, more dogs less attention, more fatigue. You need to understand that when you pay little, your dog will be stressed. Answer me and yourself, What will be your job for 2-4 $ per hour? Who will have to return the unpaid minimum wage, Rover or the owner of the dog?
