Lower your prices
I only like rover for finding dog watchers. Otherwise the fees and prices for services on this app are getting ridiculous. I’ve stopped using rover as much because it’s cheaper to pay a friend or someone off the rover app.

My most recent watcher was great but…
My most recent watcher was great but Rover as a service is less so. I've learned how to find the right sitters but if anything goes wrong the Rover customer service is terrible. I specifically cite last Thanksgiving (Nov 2021) when I had a severe watcher issue and Rover basically told me it was my problem not theirs (obviously there was more to their response but that is how I perceived it). I will continue to use Rover because there is no good alternative, but I cannot endorse their business beyond that.

The fees rover charges are excessive.
The fees rover charges are excessive. Especially since it's charged on BOTH sides of the transaction. Example 600 dollars to a sitter. Rover charged me 39 dollars and the sitter only got ~450

I am not looking in the area that the…
I am not looking in the area that the ai thinks I should be. I do not like being steered, especially when I am looking for specific attributes. I want all if the choices in my area not just what the ai picks for me. This occurred on every use of Rover between Oct - Nov 2022 The moment I find something/someone that does this service better I will not use Rover.

I had no idea that if a situation came…
I had no idea that if a situation came about that Rover would not back the customer up. My rover left my dogs home alone over night (when I paid for house sitting) and rover wanted me to ask the rover for a refund. I shouldn’t have to do that. Not sure I will ever use rover again.

Didnt disclose his requirements
I Love having acess to reviews. But Had 1 gentlemen (Gabe) lined out for house sitting at my home. Then he suddenly dropped out since I dont have wifi in my home...He says had it on his phone but he needs s more screens and works it from 6pm until midnight.. Guess he wants to work another job while he's supposed to be taking care of our pets...? Personally I think his bio should have said he MUST HAVE WIFI IF HOUSESITTING...I had to rush to find someone else. It was quite disappointing that he did this and REQUIRED WIFI to housesit in my home but didnt reveal this upfront.

We hired a house sitter through Rover…
We hired a house sitter through Rover for our 2 dogs and a cat. Through neighbors and our security system, we learned that the house sitter was absent from our home the majority of time both day and night. Our dogs were left on the outside screen porch all night to bark. I don’t believe that Rover fully vets their providers.

The app is terrible to use
The app is terrible to use. No way to cancel a request that the sitter can’t accommodate. Not intuitive for finding upcoming stays. Not intuitive for finding past stays. Seems like I have 3 inboxes or something. It’s awful…really awful. It also isn’t accurate on the distance between me and the sitter before booking. HIGE issue in NYC where I don’t drive.
