Sitters
There are to many sitters that never respond to requests. It is very frustrating

We’ve found that this can happen for a variety of reasons--from the sitter having a personal emergency, booking another appointment, to simply forgetting to get back in touch. Since sitters are considered independent business owners, not employees, they are in charge of running their personal business as they see fit. I understand how it’d be courteous to receive a response, but unfortunately, this doesn’t always happen. Very pricey for an 11 pound dog I need…
Very pricey for an 11 pound dog I need a sitter for an upcoming trip but can’t afford your prices otherwise I think Xena enjoyed her stay

To view all of a sitter’s rates, such as their holiday, additional dog, or puppy rate, select the See Additional Services & Rates option on the sitter’s profile. The dates, type of service, and pets included in a request will all play a factor in which of the sitter’s rates will apply to the booking. If you have any questions about the rates for a particular service, we recommend contacting your sitter. Sitters can adjust the pricing for a pending request or booked service, so long as the owner agrees to the update. Take this as you will
Take this as you will, our first interaction was wonderful. I trusted her and my boys loved her. Unfortunately, she is not available for our next vacation. We have tried two different people and have been getting the run around and a very bad feeling. One keeps saying that she will come for a meet and greet but forgets that she says so and never tells us a time. But waits a few days and tries the whole process again while acting like we keep dropping the ball. I work from home she can come anytime. Then we tried with another person for today, however she never told us she decided to go out of town. We reached out to her to confirm the drop in today and she apologized she meant to tell us earlier. Well, we had to reach out to her to find out she wasn't coming. Maybe we're just having bad luck, but this seems really weird. I need to have someone I trust for my boys. I don't think Rover is it.

Hi Ashley, we're so sorry for that experience. We do send out regular reminders to sitters to update their availability frequently and their accounts are affected if they do not. We encourage them to warn their clients early on about any availability changes. We are also currently testing more reminder options! If you haven't already you can message up to ten different sitters a day. That way you can find the perfect match for you and your pet. The house sitting and animal watching…
The house sitting and animal watching didn’t go smoothly. The sitter failed to honor her agreed duties & silenced her phone often. No strong support from Rover. They’re so sorry but did nothing to compensate. The reviews under the sitter still has 5 stars. Rover isn’t recalculating after my review! Awful ! All has 5 stars! How can someone trust it!

I’m pet sitter
Like a pet sitter I have profile on Rover. I pay to Rover 20% from every sitting. I also find my clients have to pay fee too once they want to book any sitter. It’s way too much. I had 10 overnights for clients ( $600 was the total price ) and my clients had to pay $650 ( $50 fee for Rover ) and I got only $480 ( $120 for Rover ). Not sure if I will continue to using Rover like a pet sitter. I am actually have more clients out of this business.

We had an issue with an in home sitter
We had an issue with an in home sitter that was not available to be at the home for the amount of time we expected and asked for refund and was told no even with the puppy getting sick from not being able to go for poop walk for 6 days!

Fees are ridiculous
Fees are ridiculous. Sitters cancel with no penalty and leave me stranded, but if I cancel, there would be a loss of money. Sitters don't have updated availability and can basically tell anyone they have experience. And, the sitters don't read the info on the dog!!

Not satisfied
I came home after 5 days to filthy cat boxes, pellet litter dust on the floor, an empty water dish and empty food dishes. I had a problem collecting my key from the sitter. My cats are alive so that’s good. But for the price, I’ll find a better company to connect with a sitter.
