Good sitter.. unreliable company.
The sitter we ended up with was good but overall I would NOT recommend this company. We contacted 5 sitters initially. They all said they wanted to meet etc but then they either came up with excuses not to or just didn’t show up. I honestly think they need to vet their people better.

My dogsitting experience
My senior dog has Cushings disease, therefore he is required to take medication daily. For the 7 days we were gone the dogsitter forgot to give him his meds. I left a 5 page typed document on caring for my dogs, which includes the medication, did a walk thru with her on everything, including meds, and on my windowsill in kitchen where meds are is also a note/reminder on giving the meds. My dog was really thin and lethargic but we called vet and were able to get him back on track.

I have had two Rover walkers
I have had two Rover walkers, who both quit without giving notice, when it became inconvenient for them. I am now having difficulty finding a replacement. This is an easy assignment.

My house was left a MESS
My house was left a MESS. Rabbit poop all over the floor, food left out on the counter, blankets and pillows thrown everywhere, wet towel left on my bed, drink open and spilled on my table, dirty dishes... My cat and bunny were fed and that's all that matters, but it was very frustrating to come home from a trip and have to spend hours cleaning my home.

Anytime I try to book a meet and greet…
Anytime I try to book a meet and greet with these so called 5 star review sitters they cancel at the last minute. Some don’t even reply, or change their fees at the last minute because of distance. They state that they’re too busy to sit for me. Didn’t they know this before? Also the calendar says their available and if they call back, they tell me they work full time. Well why are you on rover if you can’t work during the day. I spoke to one person who couldn’t do the job but tried to help me find someone. Wasted so much time on this, won’t use the app again.

We’ve found that this can happen for a variety of reasons--from the sitter having a personal emergency, booking another appointment, to simply forgetting to get back in touch. Since sitters are considered independent business owners, not employees, they are in charge of running their personal business as they see fit. I understand how it’d be courteous to receive a response, but unfortunately, this doesn’t always happen. I had a provider that didn't show up…
I had a provider that didn't show up and didn't communicate, I submitted a problem request and have never heard from the rover.com team about my experience.
