Rover should require vaccine records
This rating is specific to Rover, not my sitter. The pet sitter is very kind and provides good communication. Rover should require its members to provide up to date vaccine information. When the sitter texted photos of my dogs’ stay, there were 9 dogs in the photo. I have no idea if the other 7 are current on their vaccinations.

Be aware of holiday charging
I think Rover provides a great service by connecting people with pets to people who are willing to look after them. What I don’t care for, and BE AWARE, if you book around what they consider a holiday, you get charged more. I get that BUT, if you book any time around that holiday, be it a week or month or whatever, they charge the higher fee for the ENTIRE time! That really doesn’t seem right. :-(

Not clear if sitters are available
Not clear if sitters are available. Slow response times. Excessive service fees on longer bookings. Sitters not clearly advising they only service a certain area, don't drive, etc.

I was able to find a great pet sitter…
I was able to find a great pet sitter using Rover, but was unable to properly review the sitter due to unclear processes. In addition, there may be value in reviewing the pet sitters not chosen after a meet and greet. Why they chose to proceed or not proceed with the booking may help others looking to find a pet sitter that's a good match.

Some pet sitter is good but someone doesn’t care your dog.
I’ve mostly had good experiences, but my recent experience boarding my dog near the Orlando airport wasn’t great. I’d recommend avoiding sitters with kids, as my dog seemed sad the entire time and had a lot of food left over when I picked him up, which made me worry that he wasn’t fed properly. Next time, I’ll look for a pet sitter who: • Doesn’t have kids • Accepts only one dog at a time • Has a genuine passion for providing great care
