Abusive Sitter
We have had a REALLY mixed experience with Rover. Our first sitter was super amazing. I felt like I was leaving my dog with my mom. Our last two sitters were bordering on horrific and left me wanting to report them to someone, just not sure who. Our second to last sitter LIED about being a dog trainer. She never trained dogs on a high level in her life. She seemed shocked that my male unfixed dog (which she knew about) marked her furniture. There are many ways to prevent that but she seemed helpless. What did she do? Threw BOTH of my dogs in her basement and shut the door where they remained. Thankfully, it was only ONE night. I don't call watching dogs throwing them in a basement. Our last experience took the cake. After choosing a pet sitter that claimed she could handle our dogs ONE really huge issue (chewing when left alone), a common anxiety response and bringing a large and comfy crate to put him in when they left, we discovered they had locked him once again in a room by himself at night! This is a puppy used to being (and perfectly behaved) when allowed to LIE beside your bed at night. He was blamed for chewing a carpet. Heck, I'd do more than chew a carpet shut in a room in a strange place with no comfort. Horrendous. Thankfully we came home 3 days early and rescued our dog from this monster of a woman. Rover will NOT stay in business representing animal abusers. Our dog was traumatized.
