Beware!!!! I took my AKC registered show dog for an overnight and she shaved his tail that has taken a year and a half to grow and now we can't show and have lost all value of this remarkable breed. I will sue and I will share this with everyone

Extremely difficult to use.

I have already reported this company to the BBB and I agree with the complaints listed on this site. They do not research the people they hire as caregivers and they do not have resource to accommodate certain situations. I think they need better customer service people and better policies...

We do not believe they vet their sitters fully or take the right action when there are serious complaints.we are recovering from leaving our dogs under the care of one of their sitters.we had to return early from our vacation as we had notification from a concerned neighbor that it appeared that the dog sitter was rarely there and when the neighbor texted the sitter to try to highlight his concerns she said she wasn't going to return at all . we had booked her to stay in our house at night. We came back to find our house heavily soiled and damaged iwith the dogs urine and feces. It is now under an insurance investigation. Rover.com have been fully informed of these events but have done nothing to date, to avoid a situation like this happening in the future. She is still advertised on their web page as available even though I reccomended for the safety of other dogs in the future they should suspend her at least until this investigation has been completed. We travel often and previous to this experience we have had three sitters in consistently over the last 12 years. Our dogs have always been wonderful and we have never had to report any damage.

I booked services for a 2 - 3 hour "sitting" while I conducted legal business. My appointment was postponed, and ultimately cancelled. I messaged the sitter each time I had an update and she was fine with it. Since it turned out that I did not need the service; I have been unable to reach anyone to obtain a refund. The web site is not easily navigable to that end. I'm sure the sitters are wonderful, but if you have to cancel, good luck getting refunded.

I have to say I was soooo frustrated trying to use this site. I have booked a sitter through rover.com and was happy with the sitter, but very very disappointed with the rover.com site. It's nearly impossible to just find a sitter and try to contact them. If you have looked through sitters and found a few you like, it's a nasty process of trying to book a fake date JUST to send them a text or email.. and if you remember the name of a sitter you want to later book there is no way to easily search on their name/location. Seriously frustrating to the point that we may not use rover.com again for future sitter dates.

The employees are unknowledgeable and mean spirited. One in particular who may be a supervisor is very cold hearted and frightening. She is unhelpful, judgmental and makes snap decisions. She has very cruel kind of attitude. They care very little about dog sitters. If you need help, they will suspend your account. If you need to speak to a manager, they will never contact you back. It's a very abusive company to work for as a dog sitter. I've had difficult employers but they are one of the worst. They will never accept any responsibility for their behavior and blame everything on everyone else with their cut throat business practices. I read some of the other 1 tar reviews and they are not exaggerating. When I choose a company to work for or use (I've used Rover.com to find sitters for my dog) I try to research how they treat employees, it's not enough to just have good customer reviews. Based on my experience I can see they are out for themselves. It's one of those horrible jobs where if you never have a problem or need anything at all you'll be fine. But as soon as something minor goes wrong they exponentially amp up the torture. They do not protect female dog sitters. They would be the kind of company to sue me for a review or get it removed 'as unverified'. When I say I am scared of them, please consider that not only did they impact my financial life, career and trust, they allow predatory men to creep on trusting women. They have no policies in place to protect females. And now my earning potential and jobs are irreparable. I've joined other employment sites but Rover can easily blacklist me and if I ever have to explain why I was terminated, even though it was due to abuse, my reputation would be tarnished by the experience. You may be desperate for a job or just need part time work. Please do your research and call them. Ask them lot's of questions. Ask for policies as well as researching similar companies. And if you get a sense a particular employee or supervisor lacks ethics, don't doubt it. Your senses are correct.

I have actively endorsed and recommended Rover for almost a year now since we began using them. My husband and I were recently in Europe for 9 days. On the third day of our trip our 11 lb Lhasa Apso was attacked unprovoked by a larger dog at the sitters, had to be taken to an emergency vet, and needed stitches for her injuries. In our care instructions we specifically stated our two small dogs should be crated together anytime they aren't being supervised for their safety. The sitter went to bed that night and left our small dogs loose with larger breeds for the night with her young children. One of the children were also bitten trying to get my dog away from the other. A day or two after the attack we were notified by Rover that the $500 vet care deductible is the owners responsibility and to keep an eye out for that upcoming charge. They also said to have any claim reimbursement at all we needed to submit a statement and all supporting documentation within 7 days... While we were still out of the country for 5 more days. Thankfully we had WiFi to have even seen their email! So just know if your Rover sitter is negligent and doesn't follow your care instructions your credit card will be charged at least $500 if you even have time to submit your claim before getting home from your trip. Again, the PET OWNER is responsible for the vet care deductible per Rover terms and conditions regardless of whether the sitter followed your care instructions or not!
