Lovely dogsitter!
Lovely dogsitter!
Website a nightmare to use. All prepared questions and answers.
I wanted to be able to navigate straight to my known dogsitter but I had to go through a whole q and a to find her. Also so longwinded to
do a series of different types of bookings. very very frustrating and timewasting!

This is regarded Kandall
This is regarded Kandall, she is full of lies! I did her big favors, she was only charged for 30 mins 2x a day , and for only 1 dog. I stayed sometimes 2-3 hrs and cared for 2 dogs. She has no video proof of my care for her dogs, just the times I came, which, she also lied about. I did bring my daughter 1 time and another puppy to play with her dogs, and I apologized to her for not asking. But she did not accept my apology. I've been caring for animals longer than she has been alive and with rover now for over 4 yrs. Not one issue at all. I have pictures of all 3 dogs playing. She is wrong! 1000 percent wrong.

DO NOT USE ROVER.com
UPDATE: rover.com you replied by saying I would get a refund within 2-3 business days. I have not seen a refund besides what I was already given by rover prior to this review, as previously stated (293.75). Therefore your reply was for show and meant nothing. Rover.com has still chosen not to deal with this in an appropriate manner and the dog sitter is still listed on their website for others to use.
My dog sitter Maria, whom I hired through rover.com, was lying to me for 10 weeks about her time spent at my house. My experience with Maria the dog sitter will be detailed below. However, this review is for Rover.com as a business. Even though Rover was provided video evidence and a detailed spreadsheet of the Dog-sitters time spent at my house, as well as video evidence of her “no showing” and bringing other people and other DOGS into my house, they chose to only refund me $293.75 of the $1600.00 I spent and did not get the service. They also still have the dog sitter listed on their website for other people to use, despite what she did to me and my dogs. They did not handle this situation well at all. And now this dog sitter will be caring for other people’s animals and lying to them as well.
My experience: Do not trust Maria! Terrible experience, was totally ripped off for 10 weeks and my poor dogs. Maria worked for me over the course of 10 weeks. She appeared to be doing what I was paying her for which was supposed to be an hour long visit around 11 and an hour visit around 2. She checked in and checked out at appropriate times and sent me pictures. However, I found out via my neighbors video cameras she was not showing up for the 11:00 visit but was still checking in and out. Also, she would stay only a short period of time when she did show up (7 min, 14 min, 18 min, 38, and 10 min to name a few). I was paying her for 2 hours per day and sometimes her total time at my house was 14 minutes. Also she wouldn’t show up until 1:30, 2:42, 2:13, 1:29, and 1:56 pm to name a few when she was supposed to be there around 11 for my puppy who is in a cage as she is young. Absolutely none of her check in and check out times matched up to when she was actually at my house. She was also caught on camera bringing other dogs into my house on multiple occasions (I have a territorial dog) as well as other people into my house. She also was caught on camera locking my older dog in my garage in the dark for 40 minutes. She let my puppy eat two pairs of my shoes while she was being paid to watch her. I was lied to for 10 weeks and as a result of using Maria my poor puppy was locked in her cage for sometimes 8 hours at a time as she would not show up but was making me think she was there by checking in and out. This was a daily occurrence, not just one time, and all proven with video camera footage.

Hi Kendall,
Thanks for sharing your experience. This is upsetting to hear that you didn't have the best experience with your sitter. Anytime someone doesn't have a great experience, we highly encourage users to leave a stay review regarding their experience with the care provider. Each sitter is a small business owner that list their services on the platform. Anytime our team receives a report of a poor experience, we holistically review the situation in full and follow up with the service provider. Given your experience, we've processed a refund due to the poor experience. Typically, refunds take between 2-3 business days to process depending on the banking institution. If you have any additional questions or concerns, feel free to call our 24/7 support team at 888-453-7889.

Our dogsitter had an emergency while we…
Our dogsitter had an emergency while we were on an international trip. She basically dumped our dogs at our house, with no one to care for them. We asked Rover to find a replacement and they were unable to do so. We spent a panicked day of our vacation finding a caregiver for our dogs. Our dogsitter also kept some of our personal property.
I will never use Rover again

Terrible customer service!
Great service but unfortunately a company that does not care about their customers! Let me explain I booked a dog sitter, that dog sitter agreed to me dropping off my dog for the entire week from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. this was an arrangement me and the dog sitter had come to through the Rover app. The first day was fine. The second day I showed up and the sitter is not answering. I waited an entire 20 minutes at the sitters door and the sitter did not answer calls or texts through the Rover app. I had no choice I was already late for work I called Rover and I told them I immediately need a new sitter. Rover okay we will refund you give you a $20 credit and find your new sitter! Sounds great right? It would be if that was the reality of what would have actually happened. another 20 minutes past in the original sitter had contacted me supposedly saying that her phone was dead which makes little sense to me because we still agreed on 7 a.m. so she would have still new to come out at that time but that's a different story anyway she said I can come back and drop him off and seeing as how I had to go to work I decided to do that. Another 20 minutes passes after I drop him off and Rover support calls me and says I was just about to start looking for a new sitter for you keep in mind This is 40 minutes later already and I'm already late for work because of this. However it looks like you work things out with your original sitter so there's nothing we need to do. And then she emphasized how beautiful it is that there is a $20 credit and I'm going to get a $20 discount for the rebook of the visit. Well I went to go pick my dog back up and now my sitter enforcement informs me that she has to cancel on Friday! So I call Rover support again and I tell them my sitter wants to suddenly cancel on me on Friday what can you do about it they said we'll try to find you a new sitter. I heard nothing for 2 hours 2 hours later I see on my app that the customer rep has contacted a total of four people to those four people she said I only need a sitter for 30 minutes on Friday she never bothered to ask me how long I need to sitter with and I assume she must have known due to the conversations but I needed the sitter for 12 hours a long long way from 30 minutes. Well I'm sure you can guess what happened next but every sitter that responded saying that they could watch my dog immediately changed their mind when they found out that it's not for 30 minutes but it's actually for the whole day. On top of that the sitters were super far away in the prices were way higher. So I took it upon myself to find the sitter on my own in the app after contacting maybe 9 or 10 people I finally found someone to agree to watch my dog. There was a price difference between the original sitter and this guy who agree I called Rover support again and ask them if they could at least match the price difference they said no we already gave you a $20 credit! I explained to them that $20 credit was for a completely different situation yes with the same sitter but she now canceled on me twice. Once. I was put on hold for about 15 minutes and then the rep came and said I looked into it and there's absolutely nothing that we can do for you nothing! This is absolutely ridiculous the customer service of this company is outrageously stupid when things work out it works great but when you need their help they do not have your back! They just pretend...

Hi Majic,
We’re sorry to hear you didn’t have a great experience with your sitter. Each sitter on Rover is a small business owner that list their services. With that said, it’s essential to discuss care arrangements such as drop-off/pick-up times with your service provider. We completely understand this had to be a very frustrating experience, especially while running late to work. Given your experience, we’ve applied a $20 credit that would be able to use towards your future booking. Although, as each sitter manages their prices, we don’t cover the cost difference, the credit applies towards the new booking. We assist users to the best of our capabilities to help find an arrangement that’s a fit for all parties and apologize if there was any breakdown of communication on the ends. Sometimes messages can appear confusing when it comes to the drop-off and pick-up times. While reviewing, we were able to indicate that the mentioned booking was for a complete day's care. Please feel free to reach out to our Customer Experience team in the event clarification is needed.

Spencer D.

The WORST experience ever
The WORST experience ever! Used service to keep my dog while on a business trip. Although I was receiving text and photos throughout the day, I returned hope to urine and poop all over my home. Since my dog does not do this in my home (3 years old) that means she did not take my dog out to let him do his business! I contacted Rover.com, they could do nothing. Hyten not only stole my money for a poor job, she kept the $50 tip that I left for her and di not return it. I spent over $1000 have my floors cleaned and waxed, chairs cleaned and rug cleaned. NEVER WILL I EVER USE THIS SERVICE AGAIN. THE WORST!

My Rover experience with a new Rover…
My Rover experience with a new Rover sitter was unacceptable. She was not dependable and did not fulfil the agreed parameters of our first daycare visit. The sitter assured me that the visit would be with her dog only to see if they would get along together. When I dropped my dog off,and as I was leaving her home another pet owner pulled up her drive to drop her dog off for a daycare visit. The sitter was not forth coming and truthful therefore I do not feel that I could trust her with my Max. In addition, this sitter cancelled her commitment by text to watch my daughter's dog for a vacation of 5 days after my daughter booked her airflight and vacation plans. This sitter also arranged payment by paying cash directly to her instead of through Rover.com. In my opinion she is trying to get her own clients by drawing people in through Rover.com This behavior is unacceptable. I advise pet owners to carefully research Rover sitters before booking and never make payment directly to sitter, for if payment is not through Rover.com pet owners have no recourse when agreements are not fulfilled.
