Had a horrific experience just on a meet and greet. The sitters dogs viciously and instantly attacked my 8 month Newfoundland pup. Literally my pup was on his back while these dogs held him down. One was so latched on we had to beat on his face and gouge his eyes. The sitters hand was pretty messed up and my pup ended up with stitches and abbrasions. It was a $500 venture. Not sure how well they actually check these sitters out. Lucky my dog has alot of fur and is large or I'm sure it would've been worse if not fatal.

The pricing is not accurate. I am in shock that I paid double what I was quoted for the service on the app. Nice hidden fees.

I wouldn't use this service again. Despite what they say I found it very difficult to edit a date and expensive paying nearly £30.00 for 2 hours sitting. You have to pay in advance and although I thought I had made a payment it never showed anywhere that it had gone through it just vanished. There is the inference book now, book now, in other words give us your money, very materialistic, your booking will expire in so many hours minutes etc even before you have met a suitable person there is a lot of pressure to pay up front. Very difficult site to negotiate I am a retired registered nurse and I consider this site a scam. I lost nearly £30.00 the payment never showed. When I contacted customer services the women didn't speak english she asked for my christian name only and then kept repeatedly spelling it wrongly then said that I wasn't registered on the site. Now when I go on the site it just says expired against all the dates and although one girl said she would work privately for me as I was desperate at this stage she sent me her phone number linked to the b...... site! Of course this message never appeared in messages on rover.com These people don't care at all about the pets or the owners. only the money they make. I think the good reviews should be looked into

I will NEVER use Rover again, First of all, never trust a service that you need to pay for up front. You never get your money back if things go wrong. My sitter failed to show when I scheduled a meeting with my dog walker after the the time was agreed upon. My sitter never answered my calls when I called only corresponded by text. I could never confirm that she was at the house. I had to call the neighbors to check on her. When I had my regular pet walker checked in on my dogs, he informed me that my house was torn apart. (my dog walker did not do over night sitting) This confirmed that my dogs were left alone longer than agreed. When I came home there was dry urine all over my brand new hardwood floors Also when I returned home, one of my dogs became Cage Aggressive. He would try to bite anyone who tried to close the crate door. It took several years for him to get over this aggression. I put in a several complaints to Rover over a year period. Never heard a word back Rover took over $500 for 2 dogs for a week. NEVER NEVER use Rover. NEVER NEVER pay for services upfront I have contacted you and nothing has been resolved. If it was up to me I would have Rover shut down. Buyer beware. I am just lucky my dogs were alive when I got home. If you keep reading the reviews other were not so lucky

One of the worst experience over thanksgiving weekend , the sitter was so assuring we hired her , we have cameras for our own protection , what I saw was so bad I wanted to fly back that same day to kick her out and rescue my poor dogs , we paid her to house sit , she'd show up for 20 minutes , feed the dogs the wrong amount , then leave for 15 hours overnight , then send us pictures that our dogs are so happy where I can see in the camera they were miserable , and she brought her boyfriend in the house despite our instructions that no guests are allowed , gathering more camera clips and will have a lawyer deal with them.

Rover är en sida som i princip består av buggar. Hundens vikt ändras, hundvakters bilder kommer inte fram, kalendrar ändras efter behag (snarare än efter hundvaktens ändringar), det är så gott som omöjligt att få tag i kundtjänst och när man gör det är de minst sagt ohjälpsamma. Fruktansvärd sida för både hundägare och hundvakter.

My 2 German Shepherd’s were abandoned by their “insured sitter” while we were nearly 1,000 miles away. I spent 1,500$ in emergency tickets home because they were left in a crate with no access to food, water, or medication. This site is not reliable. Ask your veterinarian for recommendations for a sitter, do not book with Rover. Multiple dogs have died under Rover.com care, I’m just grateful I was able to get a flight home to make sure mine didn’t.

Here’s the problem with Rover, there is no vetting of their sitters. So you are taking a gamble of getting connected with a decent one, or one that lies about actually showing up to your house. Until Rover does a better job with vetting their sitters and taking claim seriously, I highly do not recommend.
