I will never use this app again
I will never use this app again. A sitter left my house wide open and my dog unattended. I paid her for four hours and I saw on my nest and adt activity that she left 50min in and pretended the whole evening to be at my house looking after my dog.

Not happy at all
Not happy at all. We hired a girl near us, Deanna Phillips. She met with us at our home and agreed to in house sit with our dog and cat. Our dog requires an injection and she said it was no problem. When we set up a date to have her come and do the shot, she never showed and never responded to my text asking her if she was still coming. We had paid reservations out of state for 10 days, and she didn’t even have the decency to respond after she committed to staying with our pets. Not pleased at all. Marybeth Balistreri

I am very disappointed in Rover
I am very disappointed in Rover. I very much like the walker they connected me with but when my dog got injured (not by the walker) Rover would not let me cancel the current week’s walks. This is some BS Rover. Be warned that Rover will gladly keep your payment for 5 walks when your dog is only capable of one. Not a good business practice Rover. I’ll never book with you again.

Unprofessional and Disappointing
I had an unpleasant experience with Rover.
I was using a sitter near me, a young student, who seemed ok at first. I recently requested a booking that was longer than usual, which she agreed to for an extra fee (understandable), but when I couldn’t afford it in this instance and found someone more reasonably priced (also understandable) the Rover sitter told me she’d never look after my dog again. I was quite taken back by the whole experience.
I think the problem with Rover is that it’s sold as a professional service, but not all the people registered have had professional experience in dog sitting as a business, or running any business at all, and the company doesn’t have any way of monitoring the people working on the app. This particular sitter was also sharing the money with her housemate, but then complained that I wasn’t paying enough for two people. Only one person was registered and advertised on the Rover account. Ultimately it all felt very insecure, unregulated and the sitters were extremely immature. The users must rely heavily on reviews, like Uber, and while Rover agreed to remove my previous review, they were unable to update my review and therefore give me the opportunity to warn other people of my experience, which seems unsafe and unbalanced. The app is heavily populated by teenagers with no way to monitor, manage or account for their behaviour. The whole experience felt unprofessional and chaotic.
Now I use BorrowMyDoggy mixed with a registered professional Doggy Day Care provider and I’m much happier. The people who look after my dog for free have a truly genuine love of animals, and the licensed professional is fully insured, very reasonably priced and is experienced in both caring for animals and running a business.
Pet care isn’t dating, you’re not looking for a ‘great fit’, you’re looking for a service that is reliable and professional and delivers what is advertised. Stay away from these middle ground style apps; they’re unreliable, lack accountability and are not worth the hassle they cause.

Dogs face cut, lost leash, and so unprofessional
My dog came back with a cut on his snout, a hoarse bark, the rover lost our leash, his profile states he has no dogs when he really has multiple in the home, and he tried to pass off my dog to his mom to take care of even though she’s not listed on the profile of someone to look out for. It was a horrible experience.

Walker is amazing. App is terrible.
Walker is amazing. App is terrible. On Android I see no way of changing the walking schedule and no method of leaving a tip. I see things that apply to the walker but not the customer. They push stuff I don't care about and don't give me access to the things I do.

Dog Hit By Car & Walker Didn't Tell Me
Who is Rover hiring to walk dogs? The walker I got clearly had no idea about dogs; she was hired, apparently, bc she knew how to walk. While in the walker's so-called care, my dog got out of her full body harness and ran away. (The pics the walker took before my baby escaped show that my dog was scared. Someone who has experience with dogs would have known not to pull forward on a leash when a dog is pulling back.) The walker called me to say the last she saw my fur-baby was headed home. Thank God my dog was smart enough and knew how to get home! The walker called to make sure my dog got home. The walker also looked me dead in my face when she got back to my house 10 minutes after my dog. When the walker arrived the only thing she said was that there were 20 more minutes left on the walk and asked how did I want to handle that. Despite all these opportunities, the walker did not immediately inform me that my dog was hit by a car while with her. Yes!! She waited hours & hours after she handed me the leash to send some *&$# text about she “left out a few details” when she spoke to me, maybe it is not “important” to me, maybe I'll chose to “ignore” it, but ..... my baby was hit by a car. You read that right!! That's what this crazy, irresponsible chick said & did....as an afterthought. Fortunately, my baby is not physically hurt. But, I'm done with Rover!!! Never again.
