The individual that we were going to book with did not show for the meet and greet we drove 300 miles one way.

Sitters are inconsiderate of your time!
Every single time I look for a sitter on Rover.com I input my dates and get my local search results. That says “confirmed availability” I start sending sitters requests. Again, I just sent 5 sitters that stated they were available and 15 minutes later they disappear from the list. I’m assuming they forgot to update their calendars and are not actually available. No email, no note, no sorry, no nothing! Rovers sitters only update their calendars AFTER they get a request. Rover needs to figure out how to hold these sitters accountable for doing this. A way that they can get dinged so they stop doing this. I just spent an hour looking for sitters and none are available! What a waste of time!

Horrible
Since @rover dont wanna do the right thing and refund my money I’m gonna bring this matter to social media. One thing I’m not gone play about is my dog or my money. I dropped my dog off to a sitter this Sunday and he was due for pickup Wednesday but I extended the stay till Thursday night. Instead of me picking him up Thursday night I contacted the woman to see if I could pick him up earlier because of the winter storm and sleet being on the roads. She told me she wasn’t even at home and that was the first red flag. So I had to wait on her to get home. When I picked chase up he was shaking and trembling like he was traumatized. I put him in the car in the backseat and he stood for about 10 minutes. Usually he looks out the window or lays down. I literally had to pull over and put him in my lap for the whole ride home to calm him down. Once we got home I seen he had 2 rashes on his penis due to her putting a diaper on him for 5 days straight without my permission. He also was scratching non stop and rubbing his back on the carpet and against anything to itch it. He had been around multiple dogs so I didn’t know if he had fleas or what but before I sent him to the sitter he had a flea bath and wasn’t itching. He also came back very dehydrated and kept drinking his bowl empty in seconds. I tried to report it and rover told me I had to spend $250 to even file a claim. Why do I need to spend money to get my money back? Wrong is wrong. This lady did what ever and god knows what to my dog and y’all not doing enough. I took him to willowbrook Petsmart and they can even vouch for me that his skin was definitely irritated from whatever she had in her house and his private area was red and irritated. It was more red on his private area but we put medicine on him the first day he came back to try and help. Please repost !

We're sorry to learn of your recent booking experience and hope that your dog is doing better. At Rover, we take safety very seriously; whenever a concern is reported to our Trust & Safety team they conduct a holistic review of the situation.
As a point of clarity, the $250 you're referencing is the Minimum Contribution for our Rover Guarantee. Meaning Rover will reimburse eligible costs after the first $250 should a vet visit be needed.
Our Trust & Safety team remains available to assist and answer any additional questions you may have. 888-727-1140

Did some petsitting and never got paid…
Did some petsitting and never got paid for it. It says my account has $48 but won't let me withdraw it and I set up my payment method. Not professional or helpful especially when I am doing the work and not getting paid

Beware of house rules!
I've used the service twice. First time was a charm. The 2nd a NIGHTMARE! Sitter ate a lot of food. Drank a bunch of vodka. Had her period and left the mattress pad covered in blood. Home was a mess!

If something happens to your pet, you're on your own.
I booked a few services due to platform for my puppy. When I pick my dog up, the sitter alerted me that my dog had been scratched in the eye by one of his dogs. His left eyelid was bloodied in the corner. I took my dog to the vet the next morning. I was told that they needed to do a staying to see if the cornea was scratched. Thank God it wasn't. I submitted the documentation to Rover to be reimbursed. They played games for five months: "we didn't receive your documents," "we received your documents and you can expect payment," "we didn't receive your documents," and "we have received your documents, and your claim doesn't qualify." They stated that the reason for denied my claim was that the diagnosis indicated on the vet records was "pinkeye." Why in the world would I go through the trouble of taking my dog to a hospital for an injury under the guise of getting his pinkeye treated? He is under a PetSmart wellness plan; therefore, it any, visits for non-emergency issues are covered under this plan. They did not ask for more information or for me to have my vet provide specifics or more information on the visit. Please stay away from Rover because there is no guarantee that your pet will be kept safe for that Rover will cover the bill. Please use this company at your own risk, because from what I'm reading, I'm happy to have my puppy back alive.

Hello, Von. We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback and hope that your dog has had a smooth recovery. Safety of all pets and users of our platform is paramount and something we take very seriously, so we are disappointed to hear of your experience and frustrations. Any time an incident is reported to us or veterinary care is sought, we conduct a full review of the details provided by all parties, including documentation from any veterinary specialists. As "pink eye" is a chronic/pre-existing illness and there were no diagnoses injuries observed by your veterinarian, it is likely that your claim did not meet the eligibility requirements of our Rover Guarantee. If you have any questions or would like further clarification from our team please feel free to reach out at any time. We remain available at 888-727-1140.

Huge Disappointment!
We have booked doggy day care in Ogden Utah only one time in the past and it was a very pleasant experience. Several years later we booked doggy day care from our home land line phone. This was a complete desperate nightmare. We were traveling and did not have internet access so we called Rover via telephone and repeatedly (over a 2 day period) attempted to confirm the location of the booked sitter. I was given a phone # to contact he sitter and the nightmare began. Unfortunately, I could only contact the sitter If I called from my home phone which was 5 hundred miles away. A rover representative assured me the sitter would call me directly so I gave them our cell phone #. I never heard from anyone!!! I was in town for a funeral and desperately needed a place for our pet and was running out of time. I finally found a place without any help at all from Rover.com.
They have too much emphasis on their bureaucratic procedures and none on the primary mission of helping customers care for rovers. I begged for two days for a phone # and an address of the sitter and was completely stone walled.

Hello, we are sorry to hear of the difficulties during this booking. Rover is primarily internet based- meaning that our communication relies on the website, app, or mobile phones for the best and most effective use. In the future, if you ever want to change your account's phone number to a phone that is accessible while you are traveling, please know you can do so in your settings. While Rover is a platform for owners and service providers to come together to ensure mutual care for your pet, Rover cannot guarantee a sitter will be available as each sitter is their own independent business owner, setting their own hours. Please be assured that we will be reviewing the calls to ensure that the situation was handled in accordance to our standards. If you still need help, I hope you give us another chance and call back at 1-888-453-7889.
