This was my first time using Rover...but not last!
This was my first time using Rover. My selected pet sitter was AMAZING! When I made my initial outreach, some other host also reached out to me and I am confused as to how they got my contact info. They did not meet my criteria so it was very odd. I booked again (for time this summer) with the fantastic person we booked with last time. I see Rover charged me $50 and don't understand why. Rover already takes 11% of the fee. Why this additional charge?

Found a Good One!
I finally found a person who would house sit and who is trustworthy and reliable for my two senior dogs. She was a delight! I talked to three other candidates with Rover and they all had personal issues they were dealing with such as they also functioned as a caregiver for a relative or it was too far because they had moved, etc. Just as I was getting frustrated, I found a person! My dogs even looked for her once she was gone. She sent pictures daily and sent texts to let me know one of my husband's clients dropped something off. She even arrived 10 minutes early on the day we left. So don't give up, keep on trying to find the right person!

Sitters are excellent
Sitters are excellent! However Rover takes too much money from them and then asks you to give the sitter a tip of which 100%goes to the sitter when you’ve already over paid because Rover takes such a high percentage out. Then they charge modification fees if a bad snow storm comes and everything closes and you’re at home with the dogs and don’t need the sitter that day. Ridiculous. Highly recommended every sitter I’ve had come in and feel bad Rover is greedy.

The rover app is great
The rover app is great. A little confusing to use at first but after I figured it out it’s been smooth sailing. I love our dog walker Sydney, she is amazing!

Needs a calendar display but is outstanding
It would really helpful to have a calendar that displayed your scheduled sitters. That little functionality would help users make sure they have the correct pets on the correct day going to the sitters they chose.

Vetting of provoders and prices
I appreciate that rover.com vets the service providers. There were multiple prices for several of the in house pet sitters which strikes me as odd, but maybe that is normal.
