I find this site very user UNfriendly. Everty time I have used it, if there needs to be any change, a time you have to start all over. I had a client also complain just yesterday that she didn't realize she hadn't submitted her reservation. then had to go in and start all over again.

Rover is a great idea
Rover is a great idea, but it is clunky to show what ypu want and some do not answer inquiries.

Had a bad situation, but worked out in the end...
I had a sitter abandon my dog at her home on the 2nd day of a 10-day stay. I was traveling cross-country. I reached out to Rover - had to call back several times and speak to several different people before any action. I had to choose a new sitter among 5 they sent me. I chose one. They said they were not going to work with her, that I had to choose another. I got it straightened out, but it was an excruciating 48 hours of my having to stay on top of it while in the middle of coordinating a big event. In the end it worked out fine, but I feel it shouldn't have been such a stressful "project" to find another sitter.

My sitter was great, but the platform is not ideal.
I am happy with the sitter I had, but I did not like the amount of people I had to go through to get to the sitter I needed. Several people before my sitter bailed, and roover did not provide an alternative. Luckily I found my sitter in the nick of time, but it was stressful. I also need a sitter who specializes in older dogs, and the selection is slim. Also this site is very expensive.

Reservations Good/Billing not so Good
I like the ability to connect with qualified dog sitters. I don't appreciate the requirement to prepay at the time of booking when I am making the reservations months in advance, particularly when making multiple reservations months in advance.
I would be okay with billing 10 - 14 days in advance of the actual event.
Under the current system you are using my money to accrue interest or invest for months before services are rendered and before the sitter is paid.

Consumer (and sitters) beware
Consumer and sitters beware, their algorithms dictate which sitters you’ll see and don’t offer search features like distance nor the option to search on someone’s name, both of which would be useful to both sitters and owners. It’s all a game because they want sitters to spend $ to prioritize their profile which is beyond all the 20% fee they receive from sitters rates and 11% admin fee.
Unfortunately Rover's response did not address main concern, the algorithms.
