I booked Kaylea Perez in Beaverton
***additional update*** Rover, apparently thinks that damage was not reported. However, images of my carpet were included upon further inspection and prior to denial of the claim(s). Complaint was filed in a timely fashion within the confines of Rovers policy. The damage was noticed upon taking my carpet to the dry cleaners. It is disappointing Rover is spinning the narrative like damage was reported 2 weeks after incident. Initial report was made via telephone around 330am 3/15. Stained carpet was mentioned 3/16 in a statement of events that was requested by Rover. 3/18 carpet was removed to be cleaned and damage was noticed/reported. Not only am I the victim of theft, but Rovers insensitive denial of my legitimate and reasonably reported claim. Please use your “holistic” view to settle these matters professionally. **Update** Rolling up my damaged carpet to get it cleaned, I noticed my flooring was damaged. I submitted this to Rover with the required documentation/estimate. Rover responded saying "After reviewing the information provided, the claim has been determined to not be eligible for reimbursement." Unsure how this was deemed ineligible considering this was damage to physical property by my Rover, not animal. I would give -3 stars now. Absolutely the worst experience. Should have known based on a consistency of bad reviews. I booked Kaylea Perez in Beaverton, Oregon via Rover because her profile indicated she was a veterinary assistant. It turned out to be the worst experience. Communication started off well, It slowly weaned to where I didn't hear from her toward the last day of my trip. Upon returning from my trip, I immediately noticed my Xbox Series X was missing and a controller. In addition, my apartment smelled like cigars, my dogs water bowl was bone dry and I had a large stain on my carpet. Kaylea was not apologetic or remorseful. I reached out to Rover who's policy does not cover stolen property. Kaylea had two implausible excuses that maybe someone snuck in while she was sleeping and stole my electronics. Only after I contacted the police to file a theft report did she admit to having someone over without my permission or knowledge. In fact she didn't even provide this individuals last name to the police. More concerned if she would be in trouble which would ruin her chances of becoming a veterinarian, Kaylea chose to simply say "I don't have it". Rovers policy and Kaylea not taking responsibility resulted in significant loss. I am concerned how my dog was treated while away based on her actions or lack thereof. I would not recommend this service.

Hello Jared, First and foremost I want to apologize for your experience- this is never something we want to happen on Rover. That being said, I will try to address your concerns below: Rover works with law enforcement; should the police heading your investigation need any cooperation from Rover, they need only call or email ([email protected]) for immediate assistance in retrieving any information we have about this incident. Per Rover's Terms of Service (Section 4 (b) iv), acts of theft are not eligible. Additionally, property damage must be at the cause of the service provider. As the damages were not originally mentioned, it is difficult to address if the damages were caused by the service provider, or natural wear and tear of the flooring. That said, I want to assure you that we take situations like this very seriously -- safety is our top priority -- and anytime something like this occurs, we perform a thorough investigation to determine what occurred and how to proceed. Please note that the dog walker or pet sitter involved will receive anything from coaching to complete removal from our community, should it be determined they did not handle the situation in accordance with our standards.
