I will never use Rover.com again. The sitter stole hundreds of dollars in items from my house and Rover won’t do anything about it. They said they only cover damage to the home. I had written a good review of the sitter before I noticed things missing, and they refuse to even take my review down. The sitter is still working on their app as well.

Worst Customer Service Support I've experienced
Very frustrating service. I was very keen to sign up and was given a promo code by a neighbour. When i tried to book service, code didn't work. Cue emails and 3 chats with customer service which went on for over an hour and felt like the Spanish Inquisition. I asked Alex for a head of customer service or manager and was told there wasn't one.
Thoroughly exhausting- Really awful way to attract new customers.

Not notified when sitter deleted from platform
I had worked once with a Rover petsitter to help me at home with my cats, doing tasks I could not do because of an injury. I was satisfied, and so arranged to hire that person again through Rover as my injury continued. The visit was confirmed, but the sitter never showed up. It was a lot of work to contact Rover to find out what was going on - you can't call them (at least I could not find a number) and they don't have livechat. I finally found an email to contact them, and found out my sitter had been deleted from their platform, although I had just confirmed the appointment the day before.
My main complaint is that Rover did not notify me of this change, so I was waiting around the house a long time for a person I expected to arrive and for services I really needed but was not getting. Luckily I was home with the cats. Had I been traveling and the sitter suddenly did not show up, it would have been a lot more serious.

TERRIBLE Experience. 0 Stars. Damage and Drugs Found at Our Home
TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! We had a dog sitter scheduled for a couple of days to stay at our home. The first couple of days things went okay, and then the sitter decided to throw a party at our house and have multiple people over that were never approved. There was property damage involved as well. We had to kick the sitter out a day early because we caught everything on camera and were worried about further destruction & our dogs safety. When we told the sitter to leave, they left all of the lights on and the garage door up. It reaked of smoke (we are a non-smoking household). When we got home, the house was trashed, we found marijuana on the floor, counters were sticky and unclean, and the bathroom cabinet drawer ripped off. We filed a complaint immediately, tried to get refunded and nothing is happening. The sitter blocked me from contact, and Rover's team is dragging their feet hoping that we will just move on from this like it never happened. We are not happy with this experience can't believe this organization has not refunded us for the damage/services not provided.

My dog was not care for as expected
My dog was not care for as expected. When I dropped him off I had just got him groomed that was expensive and time consuming. When I picked him up he was mattered with mud and grass all over his body only after 7 days in her care. I had to take him the next day to get cleaned and they had to cut all his hair off which was almost as much as the sitting fee. I feel that the care was negligent and unprofessional.

They deleted my account
They deleted my account over one incident. They decided to delete my account due to miscommunication from the owner and now I can’t even get old paystubs or anything. I believe that this is ridiculous and isn’t humanly right. At any other corporation they would at least give a warning but no Rover wants to take high percentage out of your cut then if they think you are doing anything against their policy they would delete your account as if nothing happened. Smh I won’t recommend anyone to them.

Horrible boarder
I have great concern regarding the conditions at sitter, Barbara F’s house. I have used Rover several times with past sitters and have had excellent experiences. So I trusted the Rover certification of the sitters until my last booking Jun 23-28 2022 with Barbara F. Besides her behavior of not allowing me to see where my dogs will be housed to her behavior of wait and see if I notice my senior dog’s feces crusted feet. I am concerned Barbara is keeping so many dogs (from all the barking I heard from my location in her garage) that she is not providing a Rover-quality boarding house for family pets. The only way I learned of how the feces ended up covering my dog’s feet was I messaged that his maroon blanket was missing; only then did Barbara inform me that my dog had an accident and soiled the blanket. 1) that is not a viable reason to keep something that is not hers; 2) she is not forthcoming about the stay 3) the only way my dog would have a poop accident in a crate is if he was locked in for an extended and lengthy amount of time. I know my senior dog’s habits, he does not poop in his crate and then stand in it.

My dog was harmed via neglect from his…
My dog was harmed via neglect from his sitter, Susan V. He had multiple foxtails embedded in his feet that would have been immediately easy to remove if the sitter had paid any attention to him at all. The thing is, SHE KNEW he was in pain, because he couldn't walk, and she WILLFULLY hid his injury from us. We would have picked him up immediately if we had known he had been harmed, but the sitter made it very clear she's in this for the money, and doesn't care about animals, not telling us until we were about to pick him up and infection in his feet had already set in. As a result, he has been sick for the past week, and his feet are infected. We have had to give him meds for the pain as well as antibiotics. On top of all that, apparently, their "insurance guarantee" in terms of covering any needed vet bills STARTS at $250, so you are completely out of luck in terms of assistance if the care is under that. I know there are so many people who can't afford an unexpected vet bill. I am so angry. We left our dog there due to good reviews, and he was completely healthy, and we picked him up, deeply ill. This website is not safe for dogs if they do not remove sitters who knowingly allow your pets to come under harm when they are under the care of a sitter from this service. Apparently, there are many people using this as a quick buck, and don't actually know anything about the pets they watch and certainly didn't care. Our sitter's response to the agony of our pet was basically, take your dog, I hope he has a good visit at urgent care. Most dog owners are very aware of the dangers of foxtails this time of year. We pulled out at least TEN foxtails from our small breed's dog's small paws. It is a disgrace that this site does not hold animal abusers accountable, and that our sitter will be able to keep hosting dogs. I have no doubt that this will happen with this sitter again. The last sitter sent our dog home with a massive scrape under his belly and didn't mention ANYTHING to us! If Rover does not improve its standards, they are going to end up being known as the pet sitting organization that is focused on making a quick buck, as opposed to a safe option for people who aren't able to take their dogs with them when they go out of town for any reason. My biggest regret this year was participating in this service. My dog is in pain, and I can't do anything. It hurts my heart that he was in pain for multiple days, possibly left outside during the hottest days of summer, and no one helped him, comforted him, or cared. His little paws are still swollen with fluid in all the places the foxtails were. Don't leave your pet with this service unless you are rich, can afford potential vet bills out of pocket, and don't mind that your dog may be harmed, and nothing even slightly restorative will be done about it. If you have a small breed dog, or have a dog that picks up foxtails even a little bit, do not leave your dog with Susan V. in Carmichael.
