The service is useful when you can navigate booking a sitter. Unfortunately, the user interface centers around the Pet Sitter and not the Pet Owner, i.e. always marketing. It's hard to find a local sitter and once you have one it's easy to accidentally email another candidate and have to apologize for sending the request to the wrong person. It's impossible to cancel a request if you make a mistake. When a request expires, there is not way to remove it. It is supposed to drop off after a few days but doesn't. Embarrassingly bad user interface.

Well, Rover asked me to review & sent the link to Trustpilot, so here I am. The first cpl pet sitters I contacted responded but then didn't follow through. Rover needs to do a better job of allowing customers the ability to let Rover know who is responsive & who is not. One girl was just rude.... and I certainly didn't sign up for that.And the next just ghosted me.UGHHH UPDATE: In response to Rover's comment....maybe you should reread my review. It wasn't an issue of availability, it was an issue of poor customer service and in the one instance, a rude per sitter.

I had my dog stay at someone’s house. They claimed he damaged their home. Now I’m on the hook for the bill. I have no idea if he actually did it. Oh by the way they keep adding things to the bill. No protection. I paid to have my dog watched and now I’m paying to repair the dog watchers house. Annoying.

A sitter canx the pre-meet & greet 3 times; after the 3rd time & no response, I cancelled my booking & only received 50% reimbursement. I contacted the sitter & requested a full reimbursement, she claimed she's not reimbursing because Rover didn't pay her. Rover did nothing to resolve.

Feedback can be left that is either not true or entire story is not heard. Rover says it is transparent but has no mechanism to verify feedback. And if person receiving negative feedback requests that comments be reviewed gets told that feedback cannot be changed...well, that doesn't sound customer service oriented or transparent to me.
