Sitters need to learn to keep up with their availability

I was able to get a trusted sitter, at very short notice, on a busy holiday weekend. We were constantly updated on how our dog was doing which put us at ease.

Some sitters get it and some don't. Find a great sitter like Jenelle O. and treat them great.

I'll openly admit that it's a little strange, the concept of letting a stranger into your home to take care of your dog had my alarm bells going off. But I'm cheap and Uber/AirBNB had worn down my fears sufficiently to try it. Very glad we did! The sitter was very responsive and proactive in making sure he had all the information he needed, and our dog loved the experience.

Overall very pleased with the service. Our care giver was excellent and responsive. The only negative has to do with the communication system set up by rover.com. It seemed messages were routinely delayed on both ends and was not reliable. In the end it did not matter as we came home to our dog happy and our house in order.
