Sitter was great, but Rover got greedy
The guy I used was great, but when we cancelled his service because my dog was to anxious, and I only hired him because my mom was going through chemo and I didn't want her to have to try to handle my dog. She did everything, the guy just had to take him out to the bathroom. However, my dog was just too worried that I was gone. The guy I hired tried to get them to refund it, but Rover wouldn't refund the cancellation fee. I understand the need for a cancellation fee, but in these types of situations where THE SITTER suggested cancelling, Rover really needs to do the right thing. I doubt I'll use Rover again. I'll just find someone on my own. Edit: DON'T BELIEVE ROVER'S RESPONSE!!!! The guy I hired tried to call them to edit the appointments because he couldn't get the website to remove them, but NO ON WAS THERE. He had to email them and wait for a response. And when he said he wanted to remove the cancellation charge, ROVER said THAT HE COULD NOT DO SO and would NOT LET HIM. I just got off the phone with him and he wanted to PayPal me the cancellation charge because he felt terrible that Rover did that. So go figure, not only does Rover not care about their customers, they don't care about their employees reputations. And I have the texts to prove it.

Our team has received your feedback and we’re sorry to hear about any difficulties you are facing. Cancelation fees go straight to the sitters as Rover does not keep these funds. Because of this, cancelation fees can be refunded to the owners if the sitter agrees to waive their cancelation fee. All sitters are independent business owners, and all transactions are between yourself and the care provider. As such, we are not able to revoke funds once they've been issued without the sitter's authorization. Please reach out to our Rover Support which is available 24/7 at 888-453-7889 and we would be more than happy to assist you in these matters. Thanks for being an important part of the Rover community.
