Our dogs were starved and full of fleas. We picked up the dogs early, the house was a mess (dogs crap everywhere), sitter was watching at least 7 dogs. Emotionally, our dogs were in bad shape and we were very upset. Rover.com’s response was nothing less than useless. I asked for a full refund. Plus, we had to throw everything away, blankets, beds, toys etc. NOTE: A few more days and our dogs would have been dead.

For the last 6 months I’m trying to find a dog Walker I always go to Rover and I don’t know why I continue to do it! Every time I contact a dog walker ( 4-5 at a time) I either get no response or “ sorry my schedule doesn’t allow. It’s not like I’m asking to have my dog walked in the middle of the night! It seems there are people who apply to be dog walkers but really aren’t! After this 4th and FINAL try I am done with this company! It’s a joke! They should screen their sitters/walkers better to see if they REALLY have time and will invest love with you fur baby! I won’t ever refer someone to this company!!!

I work at the dog pound and a dog was brought in by someone saying they were a Rover Petsitter. They stated that the owner never came back for their dog after 3 weeks and they didn't know what to do with it. I contacted Rover to find out if they could confirm that this person was a petsitter and any way to reach the dog's owner or emergency contact, and they were not willing to help in any way. I explained the urgency since it's a high kill shelter, and they still would not verify info or provide any possible solution. This tells me that Rover will bail on your pet if something goes wrong. Terrifying way to run a pet service.

They have been so problematic with an incident I had with my dog and the sitter. The sitter went above and beyond to take care of my dog when he got sick but now they don't want to reimburse the vet bills and for that we pay fees no? The poor sitter is worried that she won't get reimburse for Update: Not only do they decide to close the account as they see fit when at the end we pay. It doesn't matter how many years you've been with them, if they decide to close your account because they want to they will with no consideration of anything.

We tried ROVER PET SITTING SERVICE LEDUC Alberta last week, and sadly did NOT have a good experience. We had been using DOG JOGS previously and have had fabulous experiences BOTH times used, however, they were busy and could not accommodate us for this past week. ROVER LEDUC missed the mark completely on cleaning ONE of our two litter boxes for the ENTIRE two (2) days, and more importantly did NOT refresh our water fountain for our two fur babies Stanley and Bengi. When I returned home, mere hours since ROVER’S last paid visit, the water in the pet fountain was almost empty, which tells me, the WATER was NOT refilled during the ENTIRE 2 days of PAID MULTIPLE pet visits. This issue ALONE is inexcusable period! My advice would be to PASS on using this provider in Leduc and find a more reputable PET SERVICE. There were OTHER issues as well, however, none as egregious as NOT refreshing the water for our two Bengal Cats ❤️

Used Rover a few times. Generally the experiences are fine, but I used one girl who lied about a lot of things and got my dogs sick during their visit, cut the visit short and I had to find other arrangements while on vacation, Rover told me to take them to the vet and I would be eligible for the river guarantee. After taking them to the vet and spending over $300 they said I was not eligible nor will they tell me if the girl who lied about where she lived and the reasoning she cut my dogs trip short, was banned from using Rover again. She could be watching your dogs next. Be weary!!!!!

My house sitter/dog sitter was there a fraction of the time she said she would be. It was only a 2 night visit and instead of treating it like the job she committed to doing, I was over charged for my dogs to fit into her daily life as she saw fit. She ate our food, drank my booze and stained the bed sheets with her makeup. My special needs pup threw up - which only happens when she isn't fed properly. When she throws up, she get aspiration pneumonia. That's nearly $1,000 out of my pocket. Both of my pups were stressed when I got home. When I contacted Rover, I stated my exchange with the sitter - I had already brought these things up to her and her response was that I was nit-picking. Rover provided me with a templated response suggesting I reach out to the pet sitter and then send them pictures and back up from my home security system. Typically, that level of time investment would be necessary if someone disputes what happened. The pet sitter never disputed it. She just didn't think there was anything wrong with what she did. So, Rover got their commission, the pet sitter got a lot of money for nothing and I got 2 upset pups and an expensive vet visit + meds. NEVER use Rover unless your pets are used to you pretty much never being home and don't need to be on any sort of a bathroom/food schedule.
