I discovered after I returned from traveling that the sitter I used did not follow my instructions; specifically, she introduced my very small, 6.5 pound dog to much larger, strange dogs, something that we had discussed and something that we agreed was not to happen under any circumstance. Before I realized this, I wrote a review of the sitter (and paid her a tip). I then noticed she uploaded to her page multiple pictures of my dog in the company of a much, much larger dog. After initially denying what clearly happened, she acknowledged what had taken place. When I contacted Rover to edit my review and reverse the charge for the tip, I spoke with someone who was very sympathetic, but also very unhelpful. That person told me that they would send me instructions for how to edit my review -- instructions that never came. I have since called again twice and the issue has still not been resolved. It is now three days and multiple customer service reps later and I do not have a resolution, but more importantly, I have not been able to warn others of my experience. Had I known that this sitter would ignore my instructions and potentially put my dog in a danger, I would never have booked a stay with her. I am sure there are others who feel the same way, but Rover has made it all but impossible for me to communicate this important information with prospective clients of this sitter.

Taking 20 percent from dog owner and 20 percent from walkers. Pay is released 5 days after booking complete and then need another 3 days until on your bank account.

I contacted a sitter called Jennifer, she didn’t reply but I got a call from a person called Deanna, no idea how or why she responded. After lengthy chats we agreed to meet and introduce our dogs, she said she would call me, never did. If Rover is trying to debit my pay pal account, stop

I gave the young lady a 5 star. But regret. Over all she did a great job. I paid for her to spend night every night. One night she could not. I gave her a very nice tip. No thank you. I will never TIP Again. Amazing someone can be like this.

DO NOT TRUST ROVER I came back from my vacation to destroyed furniture and items. My house was a disaster. The dog sitter was never there and just left my pets out to do whatever they wanted while she was gone. They do not take any accountability. Someone needs to shut this place down. It’s dangerous and misleading to this they have vetted their employees and that you can trust them.

You are warned. Rover does NOT I repeat NOT IN ANY WAY takes any responsibility or liability if anything happens to you! If you agree to walk or watch a dog and it attacks you, you are on your own! It’s in their rules and agreement. It is NOT WORTH THE RISK for the money you make!!! You are warned!!!! I had to learn the hard way.

My daughter booked a dog Walker on my behalf through this app . I don’t recommend this app as I don’t believe the dog walkers are vetted properly and having had someone who reacted really nervously and therefore creating and exacerbating a situation which has now resulted in a police visit to myself because the dog got more and more nervous as she kicked at him. I’d recommend a trusted dedicated dog Walker in your area rather than people who are just looking to make a quick buck which this app seems to attract . Avoid.

I was asked to provide a written statement request to Rover and have done so on 12/29/22. I have not heard back from anyone. I have continued to reach out on 1/23/23, 2/16/23, 2/21/23 and again today. Don't expect to hear from anyone if you use this service.
