I’ve used Rover twice for pet care. The first time was for my year old puppy while my family went on vacation for a week. The second time was last minute due to a death in the family that required out of town travel and care for two puppies this time. Both experiences were overall positive. The app is easy to use and there are a lot of options in terms of caregivers. Those I reached out to for the initial inquiry were quick to respond and schedule meet and greets. I will say to definitely meet folks before booking to ensure they really are equipped to take care of your fur babies. Not everyone’s profile actually matches their true environment and experience with dog caretaking.

I absolutely hate that you have to pay in full first. I understand that a security deposit might be required but in all other arenas you pay for services rendered. It makes sense to pay a pet sitter when you arrive home and your pet is alive and well. Otherwise, I have found the site easy to use, easy to book, and easy to find qualified people to come and look after my furbaby.

I met a great petsitter on Rover and am thankful for that. Rover would improve if: 1. It would allow me to remove some pets (i.e. the cat) during long pet-sitting weeks; I pay $15 a day for her, and she does not require the maintenance that the dogs do; and 2. If it would do away with its service fee (you already take a percentage of the petsitter's fee) and instead allowed me to tip the petsitter.

I’ve tried Rover 3 times now. The first time wasn’t the best, but these last two times have been phenomenal. Rover is a wonderful outlet when in need of a pet sitter. You have direct contact with your sitter whether it be text or phone. Being able to read other pet parent reviews prior to making a selection is also a plus. I love the convenience and will continue using Rover in the future!

Hired a dog walker for 4 consecutive weeks, 5 days a week. She is great-I give her 5 stars. However the process of concluding the transaction online was confusing. They tell you in very fine print that your contract keeps getting renewed every week until you cancel. I thought you had to create a new contract each week. Therefore I ended up being double booked and it said that My credit card was charged twice. The walker straightened me out by assuring me that she only gets paid for the walks she actually logs and therefore the double charge will be reversed after they see that she only walked the dog once a day. Confusing? Yes!

I love that I was able to look at sitters in the area. Reading about them and what they enjoy was also very reassuring. Furthermore, the individuals that I have booked with are willing to meet prior to the specified dates to make sure it's a match.
