This company does not reprimand their independent contractors for bad attitude and how a customer is spoken to because they are not 'Rover' employees. I hired Skye to take care of my 4 pets, 1 senior taking meds for tumors and 1 taking anxiety meds. Skye was supposed to show up at 8 am - when the dogs normally take their meds. I contacted Skye at almost 1 PM. She had totally forgotten about the booking, informed me her dog has cancer and she would get to my house ASAP. I let this go because of her age, and she apologized profusely for the mistake. After the visit occurred, I had to contact her for a credit. This is where she proceeded to tell me how to ask and how to address her. She implied if I didn't use 'please and thank you' she was not going to assist. I advised I addressed her in business speak, relayed to her what Rover Customer Service advised me to say and that she should not read emotions into messages. She told me I could contact a lawyer and then told me she didn't have time for this. I did get my credit. She ended with advising me to 'watch' how I communicate with her. I had two calls with Rover, and they basically want no involvement because they are Independent Contractors. Rover is unconcerned about how these contractors represent their company and their reputation and told me there was nothing they could do. Beware of using Rover because you have no recourse if something goes wrong. Needless to say, I will not use this service again. Rover support obviously did not read this and it's a canned template response. I contacted Rover 3 times before I wrote this review.

In concept, a really good idea, but our experience was very negative. We had dog home boarding booked and paid for 4 months before our holiday, the first boarder cancelled 1 month before our holiday, we then reserved and paid for a second boarder who cancelled 3 days before we fly. We are now desperately and stressfully seeking care for our dog before we can go on holiday. We have full holiday insurance, but the terms states that this situation does not constitute grounds for a claim. Currently we are unsure if the trip will happen now due to this, and potentially miss out on a 5 thousand pound holiday that we have been planning since 2020 when it was cancelled due to to covid.

Many of the sitters on Rover.com do not ever reply to your request. Most sitters will turn down your request even though they show availability on their calendar. The entire availability calendar is a big JOKE! It is too time consuming to continue to request services from sitters only to have no response or a negative response. If you're not available - UPDATE YOUR CALENDAR!!!!!

Buen día, soy actualmente usuaria de Rover como proveedora de servicios, Soy consiente que su servicio es constante y bueno y mantiene un enlace interesante y seguro entre el dueño de las mascotas y el proveedor del servicio, pero debo decir que para mi como proveedora, desde que estoy reiniando mis servicios , ha sido muy desgastante conseguir respuesta por parte del equipo de logística , he enviado aproximadamente 10 correos actualizando mis datos y no consigo recibir respuesta para poder trabajar de manera correcta con ellos y con la confianza que tenía en la página había entregado a mis Clientes los datos para que a través de ellos me buscaran, lo que naturalmente me ha perjudicado. Espero poder organizarlo pronto.

IT is very frustrating to use Rover - multiple attempts to contact a sitter were rejected - "Out of sitters area" although in the same zip code and city listed. Another sitter has not responded in 48 hours. No response from the help line - Am I supposed to trust a beloved animal to an outfit that can't manage human communication? I don't think so!

I went to Rover and found a pet sitter in my area, their page indicated the price of $17 for drop in visits. I entered all the requested info, including my address, phone number, email address, etc (thank God I didn't enter my credit card info), and they messaged the sitter. The sitter responded, and then the actual fees popped up on Rover. I was expecting 4 visits at $17 per visit. Instead, they were charging me $23 per visit, plus an extra $7 for my second pet, and a service fee, for a total of $133, which turns into over $33 per visit. This false advertising is disgusting. I don't' know if the pet sitter was any good, because that is about double what I was expecting to pay. The sitter informed me they recently changed their policy, and in addition to the service fee, Rover is basically charging a 20% surcharge on the visit rate. Rover seems like an unethical, greedy company. I'll keep looking.

I paid for 3 days the sitter only come one day I didn't hear from her anymore I put in my review and I have not heard nothing back from the company I will like my money back for the 2 days I paid and did not get anything done

My dog was abandoned, now is super anxious and flinches a lot. Because he was abandoned my house was covered in poop and pee for a week and the sitter left messes everywhere. She damaged a painting, left dishes in the sink, peed all over my toilets throughout the house, peed on a bath mat, disconnected my security cameras, and burnt my carpet. My house was disgusting, smelt terrible, and my dog was a wreck. Rover mad me go through days of calls and emails for a half a refund then multiple more days to get it fully refunded. They're not offering any help to restore my house and carpets. They said they will pay for one holistic pet visit but only after I pay a $250 deductible. They definitely do not care about the well being of your pets or the condition your home is left in. Only making money.
