Absolutely no backup plan for a sitter…
Absolutely no backup plan for a sitter being unable to come. Wrecked monthlong trip and frightened me for my animal

If I could leave less than a 1 I would
If I could leave less than a 1 I would. I have had 3 people cancel on me at different times with less than 24 hours before my vacation. I thought this last time was different since the girl came out and did a meet-&-greet, presented herself as a Vet Tech and has a 5 star review. Apparently a dog bit her and now she is scared. Well, I am also a dog walker and sitter and have a profile on Rover. I can understand why nobody would ever trust us with people like Alysa F from Mooresville NC on there. Never, EVER using Rover again. I will build my profile a different way and my customers will know I am reliable.

Sitter stopped showing up while I was…
Sitter stopped showing up while I was out of town. Had to have a family member go get my dogs. Horrible service.

This company can improve on situations…
This company can improve on situations that are like mine. If I leave my 2 dogs with someone, I am trusting that the sitter I leave them with while I go out of town on a island in the middle of the ocean. Is a sitter that stays committed. And if they give up midway through the boarding, then rover has a process or has a list of sitters that are on call and can watch dogs immediately! Also, it was messaged to me that I would have to then figure out care, and would be obligated to pay for that care. That’s too much stress and too much on the paying customer. I agreed to a total price and a duration of time. Rover needs to back that up if the sitter that was provided through them defaulted on the JOB. There should be no additional funds needed for a new sitter and have a way that rover can transition to a new and capable sitter, without any additional fees or stress on the customer.

Bad experience
Like the other reviews I also had a bad experience, where a sitter mistreated my dog and rover's answer was for me to go back and confront the sitter for them. So strange, there is no 'Rover guarantee'. I'm now just using local sitters and it's great not paying so much extra on an app that offers no customer support. Also, I have been trying to completely delete my rover account for a week now and they're making it nearly impossible- you have to call and request it to be done and I've called about 3 times now. Wouldn't recommend this service

Terrible experience
Terrible experience. My sitter was the most irresponsible person to take care of any animals. My dog was left unattended for how many days I don’t know? When I tried to contact her I received no response. Rover takes the stance that I need to work it with the sitter and figure it out. Be warned that the well being of your animal is the least of there concerns. Absolutely horrible company

The last two people that agreed to…
The last two people that agreed to watch my dog in June fell through. Felt like this was very unprofessional as this is what they signed up to do.

Do Not Trust
Hired a house sitter through Rover. House sitter left my dog alone for 12 hours, took her outside for 3 minutes, didn’t take her out again for another 12 hours, and this time gave her a whole 2 minutes outside. When a friend arrived to check on her, she was out of water and desperately needed to poo. I asked the house sitter to leave. Rover allowed her to charge me a $95 cancellation fee, despite evidence (through the door records on my alarm system) of the neglect. They now refuse to answer my questions around at what point they would not allow a pet sitter to charge a cancellation fee/remove a pet sitter from the app. I will not use them again.
