I recently started to using the Rover app. I have been happy with the dog walker that I utilized. I am sometimes frustrated with the app. The dog walkers do not always respond in a timely manner. My first attempt I sent 5 messages. One person responded 3 days later. I work long shifts and really like to be organized and plan. Currently, I have 3 messages out there waiting for a response.
The dog walker that did walk my dog was prompt, energetic and encouraging.

Awesome, except when it comes to tipping...
Everything with the app and its service is wonderful. I deducted one star because the app will not let the user tip their pet caregiver properly. It only gives the user the option of tipping a small percentage, not a larger dollar amount or even a rounded-up amount. Allow the user to tip their pet caregiver any amount they want and I'll move this to a five-star review.

Very useful program and site
I appreciate the ability to see numerous potential dog/house sitters via the Rover site. I do wish it was easier to set up a meet and greet appointment with prospective sitters. I don’t feel comfortable requesting and committing to specific date for the pet-sitting until I have already met and thus screened the prospective sitter. Maybe there’s a way to do that on the Rover site, but I could not find it!
I’ve been very happy with each of the Rover sitters we have used this summer.

I did end up finding a great boarder! DO NOT reply to emails, though…text only. App and website could be more user friendly.
I did end up finding a great boarder for our dogs and am so happy with her that I wouldn’t hesitate to use her again if the need arises! However, I found the website difficult to navigate and disliked having to use the app to view some of the photos and extended messages I received. I had trouble finding someone to board our dogs at first, though, and that was by far the hardest frustration. I thought I was all lined up to have a Meet & Greet with someone only 10 minutes from our house but I kept replying to the messages and wasn’t hearing back from her. By the time I finally got back in touch with her she had accepted another dog or two ans was booked. When we finally figured out the problem, I was frustrated because I didn’t feel it was made clear by Rover. Every time she sent me a message, I received the message by email. I replied to the email. I did this several times. I never got an error message nor did I see anything indicating I couldn’t reply to the email. It actually appeared to be quite the opposite as if I *should* reply to the email to get in touch with her. It wasn’t until she was all booked up that I found out she had not received any of the emails I had sent to her. I had to start my search again, now less than a week away from needing care for three dogs, and wound up finding someone who lives nearly 40 minuted away from me and in the opposite direction from the way we travel. That was really tough! I’m happy to have found her and would absolutely love to use her again, but I’m less likely to use Rover just because it wasn’t very user friendly so I’ll first try to have our dogs stay with family members before going back through Rover. Now that our pet sitting period is complete, I also feel overwhelmed with the number of emails I’m getting from Rover. I guess I need to check my email preferences again to make sure I’m unsubscribed from anything unimportant, but I did want to make sure to leave a positive review. I tried leaving a review and actually think I ended up typing it three times, though, and I’m STILL not sure if the review has gone through. I didn’t receive any sort of confirmation page thanking me for my review, didn’t get taken to a page for me to review what I’d written before submitting it, etc. It would be really nice to be able to confirm what I’ve written before submitting and then to receive some sort of confirmation that my review has been completed or something like that. It just feel so incomplete and leaves me wondering. I don’t want to wonder…I want to know that my rave review was received! Overall, the app and website could be more user-friendly and it should be very clearly noted that customers (or potential customers) should NOT reply to the emails when trying to respond to the boarder.
