Sitter abused my dog, hurt his tale (open cut) bleeding for days. Had it for a week in very poor conditions. He was afraid of him when we picked him up. Terrible service, horrible experience. A liability issue for this “company”. Rover failed to ensure dogs are being treated with respect and dignity. Failed to audit sitter homes to ensure they are protected. A failure all way around.

Beware of your dog/house sitter! I had a dog/house sitter who threw a drunken rager at my house. $1,000 worth of damage. Vomit in the driveway. My poor dogs water hadn't been changed. My neighbors were upset. My house was trashed. Apparently I had booked through the sitters Rover phone number & not directly through the platform, so they denied any liability.

I was a Rover sitter. Over the course of my pet sitting experience, I had technical difficulties with Rover cards that cost me clients. When I called Rover (over and over), I could not find someone that was fluent in English. The Customer Support team is severely lacking in knowledge on how to fix problems. I will be using Wag or Caregiver moving forward.

As a sitter, Rover constantly let people from outside my parameters make requests. Some had new accounts and looked like creeps with strange requests. I cancelled my sitter profile for this reason. As a customer to other dog sitters, Rover stands by their "cancellation before noon" policy even when we are talking about a difference of 25 minutes, and bizarrely makes all their clients hash their problems out with each other instead of functioning as an intermediary. LITERALLY WHAT IS THE POINT OF ROVER THEN. THIS IS ESSENTIALLY THE SAME AS USING SITTERS FROM CRAIGSLIST. The app is hard to use, the website is even worse. When you are trying to use the app on the go, good luck to you. Can't find anything. Additionally, many of the sitter profiles are unacceptable, with photos of filthy houses, and one had even uploaded a photo of a dog that had clearly been attacked and was bleeding. Rover clearly does not involve itself in vetting, reviewing, or interacting with customers on either side of the business.

Sitter showed up an hour late to pick up the keys, causes me to miss my ride. Had to spend extra to get to my destination on top of all the stress and panic. Rover refused to even offer credits for compensation. Terrible customer service - basically “sorry about your trouble we are not gonna do anything about it”. Will never use again. I suggest to use another service, because Rover is not gonna help you when you need.

The pet sitter was lying about the care she was providing. She agreed to stay over nights and to never leave dog alone more than 8hrs. Instead she never was there except two 5-10 min visits per day. Left my dog alone for over 13 hrs at a time. It was all recorded on the ring door bell. When I asked she denied it. I had to end my vacation early to rush home to be sure my dog had care. And I have yet to hear anything from Rover despite multiple emails and request for refund. I’m disgusted by the sitter and disappointed that Rover has not been in contact with me. She also misrepresents herself as a veterinary student and lists qualifications that are probably bogus. she’s been saying she is in vet school since 2017 and still says she is. However this is not true and not how vet school works (I work as Professor at the university she claims to be attending). I will not be using Rover again unless they resolve this issue.

I was looking after a dog that became extremely agitated, so I called the customer service to get some help and she suggested to turn on the TV. I am fully covered in bruises and scratches. What is the point of having a customer service if she’s just going to Google any random thing.

I used Rover website to find a petsitter for my cat to go on vacation. The petsitter allowed my indoor only purebred ragdoll senior cat to escape her home and he has not been seen since, eight days later, and he needs medication and special veterinary diet food daily. The petsitter is not even slightly competent or capable.
