Anyone who is thinking about using Rover should Google first to find out how Rover handles issues like missing pets or pets found dead in the care of Rover sitters. Rover always tells you to make sure you book through the platform, indicating that they'll help you with "24/7 customer support" when any problems arise, which is NOT the case. My husband and I had a bad sitter and contacted the customer service multiple times, but they didn't even try to help us out. As the sitter refused to issue a refund despite of her terrible service, we ended up disputing the credit card charge.

Book a sitter on Rover and they cancelled with less than 48 hours. I tried to contact Rover, but there is no way to contact the company. I would never use this company again. Not worth the effort or frustration if the sitter cancels.

Absolutely baffling unprofessional customer service from Rover. I just finished a booking for my dog. During my dog’s stay , the sitter’s husband got his thumb nicked on my dog’s tooth ( the sitter themselves claimed there was no aggression and it was only rough play ) when he played tug of war by pulling a stick out of my dog’s mouth. This was reported to Rover by the sitter which was expected. However Rover did not make a reasonable effort to reach out to me. Not giving me a chance to talk/defend my dog , They then passed a decision saying my dog “bit” the sitter and closed my account with no warning and threw me off the platform. I’ve used Rover multiple times in the past and spent over a 1000$ on this single booking. I’m extremely disappointed with the kind of passive aggressive unfair service I got , completely devoid of empathy. I’m left stranded on my next booking this week and will have to adjust important travel plans

I picked a service as I talked with the provider I realized that I did not feel comfortable with them. I then canceled the service which was about 30 to 40 minutes later. I only received a portion on my payment back. I would like my full payment back. That can not be legal or a fair option. At this time I will no longer use this app and I will no longer recommend this app to my friends and colleagues.

This was the second time we used Rover. First Time: The woman gave my pet the wrong food, and he passed away 3 months later. He was a medical cat. My lessons learned were that I went with a cheap sitter and probably did not look for reviews as much as I should have. Second Time: This was just last week while we were on the other side of the nation. I had three walkthroughs with this person, he had plenty of great reviews. I come back to a house where my window sill was broken, my pets did not have water, my dog was crated most of the time, and worst of all: There was evidence of drug usage in my home. My car also seemed like it had been driven, and my pets were not very happy. I am very sad about this service. I have spent both times really doing my due dilligence with trying to provide proof of these incidents, and they always come back with a generic message saying they essentially will do nothing and do not care. How can a pet service be this way? I trusted this for the last time. Thanks for making my financial status and home status worse with trusting your service. You are bad people. Update on 9-10: Hello, it has been more than 48 hours and he has not responded. Furthermore we noticed something has happened to mangos whiskers since we got back. He purposely did not send us pictures of her face if you do your due diligence and investigate. I am attaching a before and after photo for your reference. It looks like a lighter got to her face or he lit a candle and did not watch her. I also contacted him about this. Please DO SOMETHING. She is a five month old cat who was perfectly fine and happy and now she is skiddish. How are you doing this to us and trying to get away with it? Someone please please help diminish this horrible process and system that has permanently damaged my sweet kitten.

If I could give it zero stars I would. I booked as a first time use for my 8 week old puppy. I texted the sitter when I arrived, sitter said she was not home and her boyfriend would take my puppy. I went up to the door and 3 big dogs jumped at the window and 2 cats. The sitters bio said she had one cat and one dog obviously that was not the case. She also mentioned having a fenced in yard, that was a lie as well because she lived in a run down apartment. Long store short she stopped responding me so I called Rover and they said they could not provide me with a refund for 5-7business days. I took videos of the apartment and submitted them to the Humane Society. Please do not use this service! If you care anything about your fur baby stay far away!

I’m new to Rover and I’m having a heck of a time finding someone to walk my dog while I work. I have tried 6 different people, all of which tell me they are not available, however their calendars reflect that they are available. Not sure if the calendar function is not working or that the workers are not utilizing it correctly. Either way it’s annoying and time consuming. Wish I could just put in a request like door dash and they find someone willing to fill the need.
