Our fees support 24/7 customer service, trust and safety, site maintenance, and sitter benefits, including payment processing and promotions. They also fund our Rover Guarantee for peace of mind. Hi Jim, thank you for sharing your concerns. When a booking is requested, you may see a temporary authorization hold on your card, but that hold should drop off. Payment is processed closer to the time of the booking. Rover’s service fees help support secure payments, 24/7 customer support, trust and safety coverage, ongoing platform maintenance, and of course, the Rover Guarantee in case of an emergency. That’s why sitters have the ability to raise their rates for services throughout the holiday season. If a booking includes dates within a holiday period, the sitter’s holiday rates will be applied to the first pet in the booking for the entire booking.
