I rated the sitter with 3 stars but the more time I have to think about it the more I wished I had given her 2 or even only 1. I’m sure there are some good pet sitters on Rover. However the one we had never changed the cat litter. Rarely took the dogs out so that they messed on the floor. She didn’t walk the dogs, not once. Left before my husband arrived home even though we came home 24 hours earlier, thus she was paid for time she didn’t work & still didn’t wait for us to arrive. We had cameras to see what was happening & to know when or how often she took the dogs to the bathroom. She walked over to the front door camera wearing a shirt and underwear only, turned her back to it. Lifted her shirt and placed her hand into her underwear. Then walked away. Yes, we have video & photograph proof.

What a great idea: an online service to connect pet owners with pet sitters! However, Rover surveils way too much. I don't like how every picture and text exchange between sitter and owner on texts actually gets registered on the site. This is an invasion of privacy. If the sitter or owner wants to share photos then they should be able to upload them on their own, without the company intruding into their exchange.

My most recent Rover experience boarding was exceptional. The three prior times having people housesit in my home while watching our dog were not good. The first person had to leave partway through the sit so we had to come home early. The next one locked our dog in a room while their dog had full run of our house. I will board again, but won't have anyone housesit through Rover again.

Our cat was left unattended for days without water or food. Our sitter got herself replaced by a friend who did not oversee on the cat . Rover is a company who subcontracts pet care providers. No consequence for poor care. Beware

The booking return time was incorrect and I had to pay Joyce $20.00 cash for the two hour delay in picking up my puppy. I didn't have cash so I included it in the tip section. Rover stated the funds were delivered to Joyce but she stated she never received it. Joyce also wanted to charge me $50.00 for a sketcher shoe that my puppy got a hold of. Other smaller issues with Joyce that would keep me from rebooking with her but if she is considered a "star" sitter by Rover I would rather find another pet sitting service.

Apparently your computer system did not register that I never sent payment. I was going to visit my tentative host with my pet, however she canceled out before we could do that. So there is a disconnect in your system, which I assume could be fixed. You should not have a payment from me, since we never "closed the deal".

My pet sitter was a terrible disappointment. I left a fair review (she never cleaned the kitty litter, my dog messed in the house twice, she didn't bring in our mail, didn't lock the door when she left). Rover didn't put my review on their site.

Die Idee der App ist gut, der Aufbau an sich auch. Etwas mehr Übersicht wäre wünschenswert. Allerdings ist die Kommunikation mit potentiellen Sittern extrem schleppend. Es findet keine Kontrolle statt, ob die angemeldeten Leute überhaupt aktiv sind. So schreibst unendlich viele Leute an und erhält, wenn überhaupt, Ewigkeiten später eine Antwort. Es funktioniert in der Umsetzung einfach nicht gut. Ich habe meine Betreuung woanders gefunden, hier nicht.
