I had an issue with a dog sitter, long story short I left her a review in which case she started leaving me reviews back with false information. Then I reported her to Rover, and rover just kept responding with generic answers and didn’t help me at all.

The girl canceled at the last minute…
The girl canceled at the last minute while I was in route to her. That’s bad business she made me miss my flight so I lost $279.00 because u couldn’t make my flight cause I had to make other arrangements for my puppy and had to pay another $220.00 for another flight cause I had to get to my destination in time for my aunts funeral. That’s just bad business.

My cats came home with fleas
My cats came home with fleas and the rover boarder didn’t do anything to rectify the situation. Will never be using Rover again.
Response from Rover.com | Pet SittingFeb 1, 2024
Hi Tayler, thank you for bringing this concern to our attention.
Rover does not offer any type of coverage for fleas. Although we do recommend that all pets be fully up-to-date on all forms of preventatives and vaccinations prior to the start of a Rover booking, there is simply no real way of preventing a flea from jumping onto a pet. Fleas and ticks can be picked up from just about anywhere— even if the pet is fully up-to-date on their preventatives.
If you've any questions regarding fleas and the Rover Guarantee, please give our 24/7 Support Team a call at 1-888-453-7889.

To begin with very good ap easy to use…
To begin with very good ap easy to use etc however our account has been deactivated due to mentioning we work as a family.
We were star sitters and built up wonderful relationships with owners and their dogs.
We had many repeat bookings and great reviews.
We can't contact owners of our upcoming bookings to let them know what's happened
Customer support unsympathetic and unhelpful.

Save your money
At the meet and greet Patrick was very friendly and after we went over the rules with him, he seemed perfectly fine with everything. We were in constant communication with him and he always stated that all was fine.
First off, our main rule is you cannot leave for more than 3 hours per day. He told us he went home every night to eat with his wife and put his baby to bed. He was gone every day more than 3 hours even though he new and accepted our terms.
When we arrived hone he was not here. He had left around 7am with no intention of returning. He knew before we left our flight did not get in until 1pm. We immediately texted him and asked him why he left. He stated that the time i put down on Rover’s site was 9am. I told him during the meet and greet that I Just filled in generic times. Even if you believe him, he still left at 7am not 9am. Therefore, our kids were never fed lunch. I realize for much larger dogs this is not as big of a problem. But with a 17 yr old, a 4lb yorkie and a 3lb yorkie it is imperative that they eat everyday on time.
Our 17 yr old is in a diaper. If the weather is a little warmer he goes outside. But, he is still diapered all day and night, I know how many diapers i left out and only 5 were gone. The playpens, where the babies potty, had 2 pee pads in them and are normally changed at least 5 times per day. Patrick changed them once in 10 days. When I changed my bed it was full of urine. Even down to the mattress pad cover. My guess is he left the babies on the bed the time he was here and never put them down. They had no water either.
My cleaning lady was here on Monday and told me that the house was full of feces. She stated that a lot of it was old. I do not believe that he lives in such a mess. I do not expect house cleaning but, I do expect my house to be clean and neat.
When we got home Bobby, 4lb yorkie, cowered in a corner and seemed quite afraid. I have never seen him do this before. I know something happened but I do not know what it is.
If he were a private babysitter, I would have paid him half. I went on Rover thinking they are a good site. However, i have no written this account 3 times and i have never hear a word from Rover. I do believe I’m entitled to a partial refund.

Rover Will Not Back You!
Please note that is a review of Rover, not all the really great people that are providing services. Unfortunately, our two wonderful dogs were completed neglected by the sitter we chose in spite of their great reviews. The neglect reached a point that they were not properly fed for a week during our trip and were emaciated, they were placed in an enclosure and not walked by the sitter and their family members. All the pictures provided were staged. We called the emergency number upon walking onto the property to collect our dogs discovering their condition. To date, Rover has done absolutely nothing to provide support, investigate, or even contact us after we provided them video and photo proof of the neglect and conditions. The warning here for any person that feels that Rover will not only vet the sitters or support their client base is absolutely wrong. Their focus is their fees, not your pet's wellbeing. As there are some wonderful individuals offering services, please ensure that you check on your choice and do not rely on Rover for anything other than an advertising platform. The final result from our side was to contact the city animal services and file a complaint that they took seriously to actually looked into the neglect.

We're sorry to hear about the distressing experience you and your dogs had with your most recent booking. We want to assure you that the safety and well-being of pets are our top priorities. To that end we will direct individuals to contact the appropriate local authorities when there is a concern such as this. It doesn't mean that Rover won't look into the matter, but local authorities are better suited and exist for such situations. Your feedback is valuable, and we're glad to hear that you reported your concerns.
