Rover.com is an efficient way to find a qualified pet sitter in your community. The website provides considerable info about the sitters, their homes, and pet behaviours and issues they are open to dealing with. Contact with sitters is done through the website so personal contact info of sitters and clients remains confidential. Once contacted, most sitters respond within minutes. Several sitters are often available, allowing a choice. Meet n greets are encouraged before finalizing a booking. A few things I don’t like: the full charge of a booking is applied to your credit card at the time of booking, even though the boarding may be a few months away or more. The company gets paid, though the sitter will not receive payment until the booking is complete. Secondly, sometimes the website can be tricky to navigate in that some info can be difficult to find. Lastly, there does not seem to be a phone number for support; just FAQs, which depending on the help needed can sometimes be frustrating. Overall, Rover.com is an efficient and reliable program providing access to likely the best pet sitters in your community! We would not hesitate to recommend it if you are looking for a caring and qualified pet sitter who is honest, trustworthy and genuinely loves animals.

I reached out yesterday about a pretty good size scratch in the inner side of Astro’s ear. I know things happen but I would of liked to know about it instead of finding it. Looks like it healing.

Rover.com helped me find a dogsitter I could trust. The fact that they do a background check on dogsitters is very important to me. I have found my go-to sitter, and will continue to use them through this website.

There are some things that are a little clunky in the app and I think having used the service both as a sitter and to hire one, the fees could be a bit lower and more clear. Overall I like it.

Positive experience and good communication

Generally the service I felt was good. I haven't used Rover in a while, I was going to become a walker but life circumstances changed during Covid as did my location. Recently I purchased a puppy and again needed a respite or general need for options of walking my puppy while I had appointments and so on. The new App screen seems to work but I found it difficult to navigate and see what my needs were being interpreted as. I needed a partial day and it asked, I felt for a range need for pick up. The app took it as an additional task and I was charged for it. Like a partial day and an additional walk. So I was charged for both, as I can surmise. My problem was finding a way to correct and edit the charges. So.. I just dealt with it as having to pay ahead on my credit card, instead of paying the Rover care person could not take the cash... Or credit me. I decided to make it lesson learned. It was an unexpected tip to them, I picked up my pup on the time set. I found the Rover caregiver wonderful, helpful and my pup loved the experience. I will Definitely seek out Kirk and Angies help again in the future.

I have used Rover once before when we went to the Phoenix area for one overnight stay two years ago. That sitter was ok though we never saw his home where our Lucy was going. He said he was moving to a new place so he picked her up at our hotel and then brought her back the next day too. He did send pictures and stayed in contact with us thru the day. This second booking last week was great. The sitter responded to my request quickly and the care and attention she gave Lucy was excellent. We will absolutely book with her next time we need a sitter. However, prior to connecting with Kimberly, I was frantic because numerous people at Rover did not respond even after repeat calls, both in Tucson and in the Chandler/Tempe areas. Those that did respond were not available on the dates I needed though their calendars clearly showed them open. It was a very frustrating week not knowing what I would do with our dog until the day before we had to leave. Thank you Kimberly!

Update: Thank you for responding. I am not sure where the issue lies with the system. The sitter quoted a nightly price in his message to me but that isn't what is on the quote in the system. He made a statement that may not be true. I am changing my rating based on my past experience and the fact that someone responded to my review. I think that is great customer service! I have used Rover before for both home visits and short term boarding. It was very reasonable. Now I need long-term boarding for two cats and I am being quoted $108/night. I feel like this is a ridiculous amount of money that I can not afford.
