Ridiculous company with close to zero background checks. People using the platform are risking their pets lives and wellbeing

My sitter didn't watch my pet for the entire time. I was shorted 2 days. They said they walked pets every 2-4 hours but they worked 12 hour shifts. My emergency contact had to pick up my pet 2 days early. I emailed rover for a refund and NEVER received a message back. Do not use Rover, they are not trustworthy.

Sitter was unreliable and terrible at communicating. It was very stressful waiting to hear back from her after being 5 hour late. Boo!

I asked for reimbursement of cancelled booking and was advised that Rover’s policy is to ‘only’ reimburse to the card used in the booking. The problem is that the bank account is closed and the bank reversed the refund. Rover advises that there is no alternative method of reimbursement. So more than a month later, I still have no refund for the cancelled booking!

I booked dog boarding twice and both times they cancelled. It was near Christmas. Ofcourse I made first booking months before my holiday. The dog sitter came to my house to see my dog and everything was ok. He liked the dog, we spoke about the habits of my dog, etc. After a week, he messaged us saying that he is no longer available and we had to book another one. So, I booked another one, paid full amount; still about 2 months before my holiday, seemed no problem, but.... Only 1 weeks before my holiday the dog sitter messaged me saying "Hi I’m awfully sorry to have to cancel so last minute you will be refunded the full amount"... Only 1 week before my holiday on Christmas time. Can you imagine? What are you going to do if it happens to you? I went through hell trying to find a place to leave my dog in the last minute. I can not trust them anymore, never. Can I....

I wish 0 stars was an option. My family planned a week long vacation months in advance. We met Stephanie D (Cherry Hill NJ) in person and confirmed our booking. Only two days before our vacation Stephanie canceled our booking without any explanation or communication. In fact, she ignored our question about what was going on. Very disappointing and unprofessional. After the cancellation, we saw she blocked off her availability for the weekend, but was open the rest of the week she was supposed to pet sit for us. It appears she made other weekend plans rather than keep her commitments or even having the basic decency to communicate what was going on. It wasn't even an option to leave a review on her profile to warn other owners. If you are planning on investing in a vacation, I would not trust this service to show up for you!

I consistently receive horrible customer service from Rover's telephone support staff. I asked for a call from leadership but have not received a telephone call. Some guy named David for "leadership" emailed me and said he called and left a voicemail, yet I never got the call or voicemail, and there's no record of missed calls on my phone. Rover doesn't care that they provide long-time customers like myself with subpar service. Rover has earned an F in customer service.

Rover's customer service is pathetic.
