To be clear this is a review about my experience using the Rover.com website ONLY. This is not a review of my experiences with our beloved Rover.com petsitter. Our petsitter is fantastic, 5 star plus all the way. The website, though functional enough to get the job done, is lacking in ease of use in the user experience. There is also a LOT of needless repetitiveness between the website messaging and the text messaging. It's truly ridiculous that I receive both an email AND a text for each and EVERY single communication between myself & my caregiver. Mind-blowing colossal waste of my time to have to eliminate all of the unnecessary messaging. All in all, the website is adequate but could definitely use some refining to make it a truly user friendly website. And no thank you, I don't want to use your app on my phone...I can only imagine the likely TRIPLICATION of all messaging!!!! Thanks but no thanks!

The only fault I found with Rover.com is with the website. The providers don’t always update their calendars. For example, I needed someone who could board my dogs. Their calendar looked open but the provider had booked drop-ins for another client of days that I needed her and was, therefore, not available full time. Maybe there is a way for the provider to show that on the calendar. So, my problem isn’t necessarily with Rover but with the providers.

Our sitters have been great - but one totally missed a meet and greet and didn't respond for two days when contacted. The ones we have actually booked are positive. The website could be easier to use to explain needs, like if someone is staying over night that you need them 24 hours (or maybe I just don't understand how to book that). We were unable to delete a pet that we no longer had, and I had to contact support because it would not delete the file. It is resolved now. I appreciate that you do background checks on sitters, since we have them stay here. Our dog has been happy.

Great dog-walking but Rover sends too many emails & the system confirms arrangements too many times. Site is confusing.

As a sitter, overall really enjoy being part of Rover and getting the opportunity to dog board different dogs. The app is a bit slow sometimes and the message alerts don't always pop up unless I go into the app then it suddenly appears. 15% commission fee is quite steep for the limited benefits for sitters. With rover guarantee the dog owner gets benefits such as cover for damages to their house but as a sitter you don't. We have had it twice where we were asked by owners to do the booking outside of Rover and so far we have pushed back and kept bookings in Rover but it's hard from the sitters side to justify the 15% deduction. Another site for example only has a £13 annual fee (a lot less than 15% commission) and covers insurance, accidents and liability as well as a 24/7 vet hotline. The rover guarantee is great for the pet owners but would be good to increase the benefits for the sitters as well. We have now taken out a separate insurance to make sure we re covered. Other than that really happy with Rover.

Rover found me an amazing sitter. App is a little glitchy and that is why I gave 4 stars

I find the online site a little difficult to use.

We’ve used Rover for our two dogs and two cats for years - super convenient and easy to find qualified pet sitters even for my huge dogs! The app takes some getting used to but I like getting pics and feedback on how my fur babies are doing and it’s easy to pay and tip my sitters.
