I am beyond annoyed and will give a zero if I can.
I am beyond annoyed and will give a zero if possible. I secure a pet sitter to cover 5 of the 7 days I will be abroad. After back and forth with the sitter where everything was confirmed and I then proceed to book flights. 2 days before my flight and on a weekend when I’m already away, the pet sitter contacts to say his landlord will not allow him to keep pets. The reason why I use rover and have been for a while is it talks about vetting all pet sitter. How do you not check something basic like “can they house a pet?” My booking has now been cancelled and I am expected to find a new sitter at a higher cost in a few hrs all because of this nonsense. Even though I’ve advised rover that the pet sitter should not be on their app, they are instead sending me generic message. Considering rover makes money out of every booking. Any new booking I make and at a higher cost from their favourite list will cost me more and make rover more money. No apology, no reimbursing me or paying the difference this will cause me. More importantly, how do you trust your pet is safe when rover is clearly not vetting pet owners or to a higher standard. I have an emergency and now I’m not only dealing with that emergency but also this nonsense which is adding to an already stressful period. Think twice about using this platform and demand more accountability from this company as this is unacceptable and people should not be left out of pocket.
