Terrible for people wanting to earn money. $50 profile approval fee that even after 6 weeks was neither approved or unapproved. Waste of time and Money

The first time I used Rover I had a good experience. The guy who looked after my dogs the first time was great but I couldn't find him again on the site. So I had to book with someone else. Everything went smoothly, got regular updates telling me that they were well behaved and settling well and got lots of pics. I collected my girls, no problem and they seemed happy. However, I then received an email from Rover stating that the sitter had written a review about my dogs but I wouldn't be able to see it until I gave a review about them. I gave a glowing review, as I had no reason to believe there was any issues to talk about. I then read what the sitter had written and I was shocked. They stated that my dogs couldn't be left alone or they would cry and that one of them had had an accident a few times. Not once did the sitter inform me of these issues and I find it disgusting that they left it until they could write a review. My dogs are fully house trained so this brings into question how often my dogs were being toileted. I also feel it is very unfair that users can't edit their reviews as I would not have left such a good review.

They advertise at £25 per night when I looked to book in my dogs I found there was an additional £19 a night for the second Dog and then other charges on top so from a bill for 10 nights which I expected at £250 I received an invoice at £553 over double and absolute scandal and rip off. In response to their answer below I’m finding it difficult to who is telling me the truth the person who is the dog sitter Isabella I’ve copied her email to Me and listed it below but she’s saying the rates are set by Rover and over saying it’s the sitters that set the rates I’ve spoken to Rover and got absolutely nowhere and I told him that I think they are misleading people Which I find totally unacceptable Isabella says: That is very strange as it states the total price is £484 (which personally I only receive 85% of due to rover service fees). As it will go against my contract, I cannot offer you a different price outside of rover or change the rate as it is on the cheaper side of rover costs. However I understand if you wish to look elsewhere

I mean the platform is so glitchy, unexpected charges and uncommunicative customer service. Really will never use again. Customer service emails go to junk and hold key info and there platform booked me the wrong dates. Really annoying. Rude and unhelpful members of the CS team Ritchel and Genelyn. Never again.

I had a terrible experience with a dog sitter. She had a 5 start rating. She left my dogs from early evening until late at night and then left at 2:30 in morning (I have security cam video of her leaving). She eat or took over $100 in food (she was there for 2 days), She rifled through every cabinet and drawer and lied about leaving my dogs. When I tried to get Rover to refund a portion of the $374 for a 50 hour sit they told me I needed to contact the sitter as she was an independent contractor.

Worst cat-sitting experiences. The cat sitter dumped cat litter in the toilet, even though there was a litter trash available, lied about visiting my cats, didn’t send pictures, and ignored my messages. Terrible, terrible experience. I reported this to Rover, and nothing was done about it. They still charged me despite these issues, and I wasn’t allowed to leave a review about the sitter. Every cat sitter has 5 stars—you’re not allowed to leave bad reviews. Serious deception at play!
