Smooth transition

I’ve used Rover before but this time was my first in an emergency and the app is SO USEFUL!!!! Thankful it was available when I needed it to make sure my pups were okay.

Having a medically complex pet can create such a domino effect in your life, and I don’t think people always realize how much goes into it until they’re living it. Our cat Orange has Congestive Heart Failure and requires oral heart medications twice daily, respiratory monitoring, and a very specific care routine. His medical care is already expensive, and traveling adds another layer of planning, cost, and worry. For a long time, leaving our boys was difficult for me because I never felt completely comfortable being away especially after Orange’s diagnosis. Using Rover has genuinely changed that and given me a sense of freedom and peace of mind that I didn’t have before. I really appreciate being able to browse different sitters, see their rates upfront, choose the type of care that works for our situation, communicate our expectations beforehand, and know what the cost will be. When you’re already managing the expenses and unpredictability that come with a medically restricted pet, having some transparency and control over the pet-care side of traveling is incredibly valuable. Through Rover, we found an amazing in-home sitter, Izzy. She was incredibly communicative, respectful, attentive, and caring. She followed the detailed Care Packet I prepared for Orange, administered his AM and PM heart medications with ease, kept me updated on his breathing and overall well-being, and sent photos and updates every day. Most importantly, she gave both of our boys genuine companionship, attention, and affection while we were gone. In the past, when we’ve traveled and only had someone stop in to check on them, we could tell by their behavior when we returned that they weren’t completely happy about us being gone. This time was completely different. We came home to two happy, relaxed boys. That alone meant the world to me. Izzy was also exceptionally respectful of our home and went above and beyond by cleaning and leaving everything beautifully cared for, just how we left it- even though we never asked or expected her to. Having a cat with a serious heart condition will probably always make traveling a little harder, but this experience made me realize that I can travel and still feel confident that my boys are safe, loved, and properly cared for at home. That’s huge for me. Rover gave us a way to find care that fit our specific needs while also giving us transparency around pricing and expectations. When so much about caring for a medically complex animal can feel outside of your control, having that little bit of control and predictability makes a tremendous difference. After this experience, I genuinely feel like we’re able to travel more and actually enjoy that time away, because I know there are people we can trust with our boys. That peace of mind is invaluable. 🧡💛🐈🐈

Excellent experience while using Rover will use again and recommend

It was our first time trying Rover and it turned out to be an excellent experience. Lynda was great with our Luna girl and even let her sleep on the bed with her. We were all very happy with how things went.

Was such a relief to find Josephine in Norman Oklahoma. She was amazing with our dogs. So great to not worry about our dogs while we were dealing with college move in.

Scheduling was very simple as well as communication with the sitter, will be using again in the future!

Pet sitter, Charlie S. Was wonderfully loving and easy with my dog. She maintained her schedule, walked her regularly and maintained my house beautifully. She sent me pictures to reassure me that my dog was cared for well.
