We used a sitter from rover.com once and had no problem so we rebooked with the same person when we left for a 3 day trip. He was scheduled to stay overnight and then make visits throughout the day, for 3 days. In short, he stayed one night overnight and the other two nights he was not at our home. He came by in the mornings and evenings to feed the dogs but did not stay overnight which is what we paid for. Be careful when you book on this site.

This app is a joke and Rover as a company does not protect their sitters. I as a woman will not be using their services ever again. I was put in several instances in where I was made to feel unsafe by inappropriate acting customers, and each time I reported to Rover they took it as a joke or victim blamed. They don't care and they are money hungry. They prefer to keep predatory customers than to hold people accountable. You are better off going to work for an actual pet sitting company if you can. Rover support will lie and not protect you at all.

I booked a 3 day sit for my dog on Rover. However, when I got to the sitter's home, she met me outside and would not allow me to come inside her home. Since I had not used this sitter previously, I cancelled the service because she refused to allow me to view her home. I don't know what pet parent would drop their pet off and not view where they will be staying. There was no information in the sitter's profile that stated clients were not allowed to view her home. This should have been stated in the sitter's profile. I would not have booked with her if this had been stated. Rover charged me a 1-day cancellation fee and would not provide a refund. Their customer service said they cannot override the sitter's cancellation fee. I reached out to the sitter after I canceled but she didn't respond to my request for a full refund. Basically, she received free money for nothing.

THEY SCAMMED ME OUT OF $100. I was using Rover for about 3 month. They screwed up my bill and charged me an extra $100 over my walker's rate. I reached out and they immediately told me it was their error but REFUSED to refund me. I emailed back so many times and finally got a refund, minus $100. And they refuse to give me any further refund. It's a faceless app without proper support. Don't give them your money. Find another app, or just connect with someone local! You've been warned!

This is the first experience I have had with Rover and it was a very bad one! Doesn't even deserve 1 star. I booked a dog sitter by the name of Kacper Z. To look after my two dogs (both under a year old). Kacper requested 50% of the payment be made in advance through bank transfer which I did. When I arrived at the agreed time to drop them off Kacper refused to take them and accused me of lying about the ages of the dogs. I had already advised in the app the ages and weight of each dog as well as the breed. He then said he will take one but not the other. I was due to travel that day to Manchester for my son's graduation in Manchester (which is why I needed the dog sitter). I was very upset and disappointed that because of Kacper's refusal to look after my dogs I could no longer attend. Not only did I lose money, for my travel ticket £77.52 (non-refundable), I lost the opportunity to attend my sons special celebration! To top it off Kacper then said that the money I had transferred (£100) was non-refundable and he refused to reimburse me. After some argument and Kasper putting the phone down on me he then reluctantly transferred back my money. I would never recommend anyone use this sitter who clearly knows nothing about sizes/ages of certain breeds of dogs. Very unreliable and unprofessional!

I have been using Rover pet sitting service for a few years. Whenever my partner and I would go away for vacations, we’d use Rover to find a sitter to check in on our cats while we’re away. We’ve never had any issues until our house got flooded due to a massive mistake made by the sitter we used in Dec 2023. Long story short, the sitter left a water valve to our radiators open and the radiators bursted while we were away. We came home to our home completely destroyed on New Year’s Day 2024. We tried to get help from Rover. There was nothing they or their “Rover Guarantee” could do to help us out to pay for the damages done to our house and property. Use Rover at your own risk. If anything were to happen to your property under the care of your sitter, they won’t take any responsibility for it. I will never use Rover again due to this. I do not recommend Rover, and I will not recommend this company to anyone.

I was looking for a sitter to come in for twice for 30 minutes a day for 3 days the cost would have been £207 for 3 dogs let out. I think that was to much for 3 hours work

I had booked Shanelle, a Rover dog sitter, more than a month in advance, I checked with her the day before and everything was confirmed. When I went to drop off my dog at her place (it was 09:00), there was nobody home. I rang her mobile and she explained that she had spent the night in hospital, so she wasn't able to look after my dog. A phone call to warn us would have been due at least. We had to change our plans completely and missed an event with friends in London. Disappointing and unreliable behaviour.
