Had one great dog/house sitter. The second one was nice enough but left my dog alone all evening and my neighbor called to tell me my dog had been whining for four hours!!! Then when we returned home we found the stove burner on. Wow!

The service provider was excellent. The site needs some work. There should be an easy way to view your history and search in a more specific area. The zip code search brought up providers that were on the other side of town and then it numbered the results 1-20 on every page. Which is confusing. The 2nd page should be 11-20, it didn't make a whole lot of sense. It is better than using craigslist though, and I would use the site again. Just needs work is all.

Our dog had a great time with our sitter. I would have gladly have paid her for her services even without the service of rover.com. I tried to apply a $20 off promotional code from my sitter so I could save $20 off my first experience with rover.com and that was never applied that was a scam to get us to try rover.com. you will pay an extra $10 for using rover.com service besides what you pay your sitter. But you can find some amazing sitters on there that will treat your dog very well like ours did.

Great service, easy to find folks to interview for pet sitting. Site certainly had some issues though. Rates for my sitter were changing unbeknownst to her. Finding places to track your scheduled visits and payments is difficult as well as leaving reviews.

I had a wonderful experience finding and using Rover.com. I found a great sitter who I plan on using again in the future. I did however find that the Rover.com website is not the most user friendly to someone new. I had trouble navigating through it and ended up with a double booking which I had no idea how that happened. I had to call and have one of them removed and credited back to me. I also couldn't schedule a meet and greet without putting a date for a booking down which I thought was strange. I didn't want to create a booking but was forced to put a date down to move forward with a meet and greet request. Aside from the website being somewhat problematic my experience with the actual sitter was great. I

I found a really great dog sitter from Rover.com. Maybe I'm too fussy, but I had to contact a number of sitters before I found the right fit. That's OK. I was confident that the guy I eventually found would take excellent care of my dog and I was not disappointed. There are, however, a number of kinks in the system. First of all, the reason so many potential sitters have such good response rates is that they answer the initial email and then ignore you after that. Unfortunately, Rover does not allow you to leave a negative review for this behavior. In fact, you can't leave any review unless your dog stays in a home. I think you should be allowed to review based on meet and greets as well. Secondly, there are a number of sitters who will only take pets who are crate trained. If I want my dog crated, I'll take him to PetSmart. Lastly, there are no protocols that sitters should follow. One sitter refused to give me her address until it would be time for me to drop the dog off. Another thought we didn't need a meet and greet because she currently does not have a dog. Didn't these people think I would want to see where my dog would be staying? Rover is a decent service but it could be better. Allow plenty of time to research the potential sitters, meet them and determine whether your fur baby would be a good fit in their home.

In honesty, I did not get to use the service. I did a search for pet sitting for my bunny and birds and when this site came up as a "pet sitting" service I figured it was just what it said in the phrase: PET sitting. Instead, it was dog sitting and dog only. It is annoying when companies can't seem to be clear in their services advertisement and assume that pet=dog. Not cool!

Rover should not be charging my credit card until after the service is rendered. The sitter is not paid until after the service is rendered so why did you charge my card? Hotels 'hold' the card but do not charge until after you stay at the hotel.
