So I continue to try to get an answer to my concern, and I get nowhere. I'm not quitting until my concern addressed properly.

I did not receive my refund in 15 days and I am still waiting for my refund.

Rover could not care less about animal owners. It is all about themselves. After having a disastrous dog sitter who endangered our dog during just 15 hrs. of 'taking care' of him, rover asked over and over and over to describe what happened. After providing description that involved police to enter the house and send sitter back to where she came from, Rover did not even apologize and did not return any money as initially promised.

I haven't booked a pet sitter using Rover. I have a pet sitting business (over 10 years) but not registered with them. I tried to register with them years ago but they wanted too much money to list me on their service. Today's review concern's a long time client of mine who booked a sitter with Rover when I was not available for her trip. She called my emergency number when the River sitter was a no show. The client had already left town and called me in a panic when the Rover sitter did not arrive as scheduled. Fortunately I was close enough and able to go check on her dogs to give them a potty break and feed them dinner. I am able to continue to visit for potty breaks & feedings until the client returns. Not ideal as the client prefers a stay-in sitter, it takes time away from the client I am currently servicing, so it involves a lot of running back & forth for me. It remains to be seen how Rover will handle this issue with my client.

allow caregivers to be irresponsible

We booked a sitter with good reviews and seemed to really like our dogs during our meet and greet; however, he really disappointed us. We barely got communication from him and had to really seek out information about how things were going. We had videos of him yelling at our puppy. He went into rooms he did not need to be in and took stuff from closets and he did not inform us that our puppy had had accidents and we came home to a soiled comforter. He also only took the dogs on 3 walks in 4 days when they usually get 2 walks per day. I am trying to work with Rover for a refund but have not received it thus far.

Do the meet and greet to make sure the sitter is legit. I made a booking and when I got there found out the sitter was a drug addict and incapable of watching my dog. She tried and after 40 minutes she cancelled the booking but Rover paid her anyways. Rover will not give you a full refund even if the sitter cancels. It seems like she does this on a regular basis and knew she'd get paid anyways. Rover told me too bad I should have done more research and that I should ask the crackhead directly for a refund that they already paid her and I was out of luck.

I used a Rover sitter and discovered abusive treatment of my dog and home, confirmed through home security footage. I reported the incident directly to Rover, and despite multiple follow-ups, I’ve received only generic, non-substantive responses that never directly address the evidence I provided. Please exercise extreme caution when booking - there appears to be no meaningful public accountability, even in serious situations.
