I rolled over my 401K to Rosland Capital in January 2022, in the amount of $242,000. I continued to fund this account with $35,000 additional monies. **Initial Purchase (01/20/2022)** •$25 Lady Liberty Gold Coin (.25 oz)-276 coins @ $724.13 each.......$199,859.88 •1 oz Silver Americann Eagle Proof-361 coins @ $118.07 each.......$42,623.27 (Gold Spot:$1,844.20...Silver Spot :$22.45) Their invoice listed a 33.3% "Spread" ,meaning these assets would need to rise that much just to break even. Based on that, Rosland implied they acquired my Silver Eagles for about $78.75 each-a figure inconsistent with market data. These were non-graded, mixed -year coins, many of which can be purchased today for less even though the spot prices have risen about 115%- ($28.00 oz) since my rollover. This all suggests the spread disclosed was misleading. ***Follow-Up Transaction (01/23/2024)*** I was called by Erik Von Detten from Rosland Capital to "rebalance" my portfolio by exchanging gold for silver. Following his advice,I sold 250 gold coins(originally $724.13) for $506.00 each, realizing a loss of $54,532.50. He then sold me 1,573 Silver Eagle Proofs for $80.39 each-the same product he sold me for $118.07, even though silver is up dramatically. Despite gold spot being up over 130%-($2,430.00 oz) and silver spot being up over 115%-(28.00 oz) since my purchase, Rosland now values my portfolio at only $170,000.00. In summation, total contributions into 401K equal $277,000.00. That is a loss of $107,000.00 or 38% loss. I have full written documentation and communication records supporting these claims. This experience reflects misleading pricing, inconsistent spreads, and questionable portfolio advice that caused substantial losses. Unless Rosland Capital provides a full refund, I plan to file formal complaints with the CFTC and strongly encourage anyone with similar experiences to do the same.
