Roost & RootReviews of roostandroot.com

Excellent quality coops and accessories, reasonably priced, knowledgeable owner and staff who take the time to talk about any chicken related questions.

I absolutely love my hen house. It was fun to put together and the instructions and videos were perfect. Thank you so much!

Awesome company, my coop was actually shipped a couple of weeks early. Good quality, my coop is the envy of my hobby farmers group. The feed system is really good too; it’s easily accessible and prevents a lot of waste—anything that saves me money makes me happy.

Questions were asked on what would be the best size coop we needed for the number of chickens we planned to house in a coop and the answers received were very helpful. Coop was ready on the estimated date received. When the coop was ready for pickup (already assemblyed) staff loaded and strapped it down on our trailer. Excellent serive and product.

This is a great company, but the coops are not sufficient if you live in a cold climate. I am in CT and the temps hover around freezing and below all winter. Even though I purchased the cold weather panels, the coop was way too cold for chickens and extremely drafty. I had to insulate the entire run and coop with foam and heavy duty plastic. (I also had to dig a ditch to install hardware cloth in the ground and attach it to coop bottom. This made cleaning coop very, very difficult because I could no longer pull run extension off. ) In the spring, I had to buy a real coop, raised off the ground, with a door and windows that could actually protect them from the elements and predators. I can clean it by walking into it, it’s cool in the heat and with an insulated roof and four solid walls, it will keep them dry, draft free and warm all winter. I wish I knew these coops were only good for warmer climates. I do have another one that is perfect for my summer house. The chickens love it all summer when we go away and the weather is warm and perfect for these well-built and beautiful coops, although it’s still a bit difficult to clean. Amazing customer service and very helpful company.

Wow - what a wonderful company to deal with! Diane is a terrific owner and everything about the coop is top of the line. Always there to help out when needed! You will love their products - and so will your chickens. We call our coop the chick condo - they are truly spoiled!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you Urban Coop Company

Everything came well packaged. I like how all the pieces were numbered. My friend that helped me assemble the coop appreciates how you allowed for overage. We were able to get it assembled in four hours.

Very nice and helpful on the phone. Got the order when expected. Good quality product.
