Mondays tend to be our busiest days as participants call in with questions and concerns that occurred to them over the weekend. We understand it can be frustrating not being able to reach someone right away, but please be assured that our staff is working hard to get to everyone within the same day and we are actively hiring and training our staff to improve our level of service. Our Travel Team does try and book the most direct flights in accordance to our negotiated rates and program start and end times. If you have a preference of routing you can always enroll as Travel Custom Arrangements and our Travel Team would be happy to see what options might be available. We also apologize for the confusion regarding the $2,300 balance and see that you were able to get this cleared up the same day with one of our representatives. Dear Ruth, I am responding on behalf of Road Scholar. Your feedback is important to us and we understand how frustrating it can be when unexpected delays arise while traveling. Our Travel Team does book the most direct flights in accordance to our negotiated rates and program start and end times. However, in the future if you have a specific airline you prefer, you can enroll as Travel Custom Arrangements and our Travel Team would be happy to see what options might be available. If that doesn’t end up working for you there is often times flexibility to make changes or even cancel your flight itinerary. Ireland at a Slower Pace is a wonderful adventure. With each adventure we do supply a detailed sample daily itinerary, along with an overview to provide a clear picture of what to expect during your travels. Supporting the conservation of birds and their habitats is important to us and the American Birding Association’s Code of Ethics is followed on all of our birding adventures. Your feedback is important to us and we will pass this along to be reviewed for future adventures. Dear Sandy, I am responding on behalf of Road Scholar. The health and welfare of our participants and staff are the most important considerations. We do have a team dedicated to safety around our adventures, who also consult medical professionals to ensure we are up to date on all information. Creating this policy was not an easy decision for us and we hate to disappoint anyone who wants to join a Road Scholar learning adventure. We do hope to relax this requirement at some point, but we do not know when that will be at this time. If there are any changes to this requirement we will be sure to inform all of our participants and update our materials accordingly.
