I like a lot about this truck, but the backup camera is a real problem. I timed it on video at 10.8 seconds from shifting into reverse to the camera picture showing up. The federal limit is 2.0 seconds. It happens on software 2026.23 and newer, which Rivian says fixes its September camera recall. My truck backed into a pole when the camera didn't come up. I had the rooftop tent up and couldn't see anything out the back. Rivian denied my claim. I filed NHTSA complaint 11770232. If you own one, time yours.
