scam!!! They called me and changed the minimum and assured me that I wasn’t quoted the minimum price. Then I told them to scroll up on the text and she still doubled down. I saw this page because the whole thing seemed sketchy and turns out it is. They are third party and I don’t think anyone should use them.

Absolute worst service at experience I have ever had. If I could give them a 0 star rating I would. I called to book my service for labor only to unload a moving truck. They scheduled me for 11 AM to unload my truck. I explained to the customer Service agent taking my booking that there was a time restriction on what time I could move in at the community and the service had to be on time to not risk running out of time to complete the service. But later when I received the confirmation, it stated it was an 11 AM to 1 PM window for arrival. That was not what I had planned or scheduled for, but it was still going to give me enough time to get the truck unloaded before I had to be out of the community with the moving van. At 12:30pm I called because they had not shown up yet. At 1 PM they had still not shown so I called again to get an ETA and was told they would arrive between 1:30 PM and 2 PM. At 2:15 they had still not arrived so I called again and was told they had an ETA of 2:30 PM to 3 PM. At 3 PM I called again because they had not arrived and now I was running out of time and only had about an hour and a half left to finish unloading the truck before I had to leave the community with the moving van. At that time they three-way the Driver into the call and the driver told me he was still 45 minutes away from my location. When I became upset and questioned why I was continuously getting given different times when I booked for a specific time because of the time constraints in the community the Driver said “I’m not going anywhere with a disrespectful customer or an upset customer so she can go screw herself and I’m just not Gonna do her move. “The customer service agent then told me that I guess I’m not getting Services done today because I was disrespectful and canceled my service. When I told him he was under contract to complete the service and he needed to complete it he told me I’ll try to find a different mover and I’ll call you back in 15 minutes. Never returned my call and refused to answer any of my calls when I tried calling back.

When I booked with Rio Moving I was under the impression that they were a MOVING COMPANY. What they do is contract out jobs to actual moving companies... so then what is the point of this business other than acting as a greedy middle man?? Swain Moving, the actual moving company that came, was incredible. If this review was for them, I would be leaving 5 stars. Rio Moving company feels like a scam and I DO NOT RECOMMEND this "service". You are better off booking with a moving company directly. Rio Moving will hound you with Zelle requests and then after the move is completed they will hound you to leave reviews.

Scheduled a pick up time only to be called 45 mins before they were gonna be late to be told it was gonna be a 4 hour delay. They weren’t going to compensate in any way of possibly an extra hour for free or some kind of discount. Even tried to say I wasn’t going to get a refund. After going. And and forth for 20 mins they granted a refund.

This company confirmed my moving date and time, then had the nerve to call OVER AN HOUR AFTER THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO ARRIVE claiming they suddenly “didn’t have a truck big enough.” I was told that if I still wanted my move, I would have to pay MORE money for a smaller truck, because they supposedly couldn’t find a large U-Haul anywhere in my area. That was a lie. I personally called U-Haul locations near me and was told they had multiple 20-foot trucks available. When I called the dispatcher back with this information, it took countless calls just to reach anyone at all. Once I finally did, I was then told the crew was no longer near my house, which makes absolutely no sense since we had already agreed to proceed with the smaller truck. So were they coming or not? Clearly, they never intended to show up. I repeatedly asked to speak with a supervisor and was refused multiple times. Only after pushing did the dispatcher finally give me an “extension,” which I highly doubt was legitimate since it seems nearly impossible to reach anyone at this company. To make matters worse, they tried to tack on an extra $200, claiming the move wouldn’t be completed in two hours—even though I had already moved my entire house into the garage specifically to make the job easier and faster for the movers. This entire experience felt bait-and-switch, misleading, and completely unprofessional. Last-minute excuses, false claims about truck availability, price gouging, zero accountability, and refusal to escalate issues. This is not how a legitimate business operates. Avoid this company at all costs.

Don't let their affordable price fool you! I attempted to book through Groupon and should have known something was wrong with this company when I called them and they told me they could only accept $49 of the $99 that I paid for. I had to have Groupon refund me the $99 and ended up paying them $185 for 2 movers (labor only). My move was scheduled for 11/8/25 between 9-11am. The day before my move, I get a phone call from my coordinator Shawn informing me that my movers will be arriving between 12-1pm. That time frame came and went and when I called Shawn, he didn't know where they were. This is when I found out that they hire a third party company. Shawn was able to get this 3rd party company on the phone and this is when he tells me that Rio did not hire them until 11am that same morning. When I think it can't get any worse, the movers that they sent, called me, and asked that I come pick them up from their location because they lost GPS signal and their phone was about to die. I've never in my life experienced such unprofessionalism and incoordination with a moving company in my 40 years of living. Against my better judgement, I drove to where they said they were at to find the movers not there. When I asked Shawn for a refund to find new movers, he refused. When I asked to speak to his boss, he put me on hold and the phone got disconnected. Finally around 2:30 or so, the movers showed up. Shawn tried to call me later and I ignored it. Spend the extra money on a reputable company that takes their job seriously! Rio Company is not it!

If I could give ZERO stars I would. The movers came with a Uhaul Truck and two movers. They were friendly but rushed everything into the truck without properly handling any of our furniture. When the furniture arrived, I was then informed that the movers threw out the mirror from our brand-new dresser. There was no call about it. It was just thrown into our dumpster. We had deep scratches on two other dressers. Our TV was cracked and missing a leg stand. Inside you can see where the leg stand was inserted was bent. They did not refund or offer anything to show they cared. The movers were offering to buy us a used mirror from Facebook Market place. I was upset because I offered them water and Gatorade and tipped generously and was treated horribly. I would steer far from this company.

The movers had ripped clothes to the point of underwear completely showing - like entire boxers showing, they smelled of weed and one was essentially incoherent. They were not on time & thought it was funny. One of the movers could barely work a dolly so clearly had never moved stuff. I have never had this bad of an experience in my entire life moving.
