13 January 2020 I have worked with Edward Badrak twice on the HECM loan process, first in 2017 and then in 2019 refinancing the first loan. Both experiences were extremely satisfactory. Ed’s step-by-step guidance and coordination of activities made the process very simple: he gave me an exact list of the necessary documents; I sent the documents to him; he checked them and told me if they did not meet specifications and how to correct any deficiencies; then he put the application together and submitted it. In addition, he had a very accurate sense of the timing of each step, and promptly answered questions I had as we went along. His calm, professional attitude, efficiency, and up-to-date knowledge of the requirements made the process seem very straightforward and matter-of-fact. Ed Badrak and RMF were real finds. RMF has a great product but like all Reverse Mortgages a lot of terms and conditions are confusing. Ed was patient with me and even after I compared his quote to others I had gotten in spread sheet he didn’t get upset he congratulated me on doing due diligence. He showed me how his quote from RMF was way better than the others. If you looking into getting a Reverse Mortgage, RMF as a company and Ed as your agent is a great choice.

All things considered, 3 stars is not a bad review. Would we use RMF in the future and/or recommend RMF to friends? DEFINITELY YES. • Great product for our needs. • Mobile Notary for the application and closing was convenient instead of requiring a visit to the title company office. • Even with the hiccups, the process was much better than calling the information phone number given by one of the ‘big name’ actor endorsement companies. • Since the initial review, we received documents with our names misspelled on the Title Insurance Policy and also on a refund check. Correcting the documents and re-issuing the check was put at the bottom of the priority list and required communication from us to get any action. When the spelling was changed, the RMF contractor also changed the mailing address which will maximize our inconvenience due to their mistake. Our expectations are high due to less than stellar past experiences. FOLLOWUP: RMF did hold the contractor accountable for correcting the mistake and re-issuing corrected documents. • Not responsive to emails, didn’t acknowledge receipt of emails & followup phone calls show that the email wasn’t read, though verbally acknowledged receipt. • RMF prefers to give checklists via phone rather than sending the list via email as requested. • The first closing document was a “surprise” insertion to the complete closing package received by email for review prior to signing the documents. The RMF 'assistant' essentially told us that she was more knowledgeable than our attorney as far as trust documents were concerned.

Robert Hoffman was great to work with in the ordinary stages of the loan process. He was very attentive. Vanessa White was brought in to deal with my concerns. She was the superb in working with me personally to obtain a reverse mortgage that worked for both lender and applicant. She answered all of my questions and worked on my behalf while representing RMF. Her pro-active approach and her persistence led to a good outcome. She won me over to RMF. RMF for calculating tax stamps makes more sense and should be a major marketing point. Disappointed that it was so hard to obtain simple quotes to compare to compare loan to competitors without generating a new set of disclosure documents-that may be the required process but it is not consumer friendly. I know it was a rush to get to a 1/31 closing but we decided on it 10 days before. I am most disappointed that I did not see the closing documents until 1 hour prior to closing and only after I insisted on receiving them. No time for attorney to review. No excuse for not supplying them earlier. Closer received the packet only two hours prior to closing and was looking at them for the first time with us. They were initially in a different order than was supplied to me that last hour. Ms White was available by phone and I had to call her 15 times during closing for clarification of documents. She was able to answer all of my questions but it was awkward. Title company supplied a mistaken Settlement statement that differed from RMF settlement statement. We refused to sign it. This was the last document of the closing and its mistake set the tone for the closing. Awkward.

Extremely professional, pleasant, and helpful staff at each level. We were given accurate information at each point. No surprises! The total process time was extremely fast, with, again, accurate time estimates. We could not be more pleased with Bob, Jason and Heather.

I had to look out for myself. I was not offered the best deal and I would have closed on a bad deal for me if another company had not pointed out that I was getting a bad offer. RMF responded to my criticism and improved the offer. I would not use them again. My loan officer was very nice and pleasant to talk to.

Larry was extremely professional. He was able to answer all questions -- very knowledgeable and patient. I would highly recommend Larry to anyone considering a reverse mortgage.
