I am sorry the process did not work for you. Unfortunately the timing of our three way process is not as predictable as in normal days and we are forced to wait on the USPS sometimes. Often we cannot see the issues with your impressions till we pour up the model. We cannot make retainers from inaccurate impressions so sometimes we have do have you repeat the impression process. I am sorry you were not happy with your retainer. Please email me at [email protected] and I will make it right. If the retainer was too loose we probably did not have an ideal impression and our best estimate of tooth anatomy was not perfect. We can take a new impression and make an ideal retainer. As far as your front tooth, we are a retainer company and absolutely do not move teeth with our retainers. They simply retain teeth in their current position. I am an orthodontist and feel tooth movement should only be under the direct care of a licensed orthodontist.

I have thought long and hard about how to respond to this review. Everyone has a right to their opinion and I respect that. I am the founder and owner of Retainers Direct and my wife (Kimberly) and son, Tanner, handle the majority of direct customer service. We pride ourselves on a quality product with excellent customer service. That being said, we cannot make an ideal retainer without a detailed impression of the teeth. Capturing that impression can be difficult for some. If you are not satisfied with our products or our system does not work for you, we will give ou your money back. I always try to be positive when I respond to reviews, good or bad. In this case I need to speak my mind. The material I use to make retainers is the same material I use in my orthodontic office. It is a .030 polypropylene based plastic that is BPA free. It is strong, comfortable and does not rip or crack. If you wore holes in it than you are grinding at night and need a night guard, not a retainer. It is not possible to make a retainer with "water bottle plastic" and I am not interested in a "quick buck". For you to say this is just ignorant and mean. This is a family owned business that I started in my off time. I run a reputable orthodontic practice in New Mexico and pride myself on genuine care and integrity. If you were unhappy with our product you should just email me and I will return your money.

I am truly sorry that your experience was poor . We have a 100% money back guarantee if you are not completely satisfied. Please email us at [email protected] and we will kindly refund your money. myself or my wife answer all the emails daily and our "in lab" turnaround time has never been over three days. If we receive an impression that is less than ideal we send out an email, call or text that day. We have a number of "open cases" in the lab that we are waiting for impressions or contact from the customer, but none set over 2 weeks without us reaching out again. A shallow impression makes it very difficult to fabricate a retainer that has enough retention to stay on. You are correct, if I get a shallow impression, I usually ask the customer to take a new impression. I am happy to make you a retainer that fits the way you would like.
