Fits a little tight, but decent quality. Took forever...almost 2-4 weeks end to end process which is disappointing.
Other than that, not a bad value for the price.

Thanks for the review. Our policy is to make and send the retainers in two days from when the impressions are received. Three way shipping takes a little while but most customers receive their retainers in 7 -10 days from when they order.

Perfect Fit after Trial and Error
It is difficult to get a perfect impression and I had to pay to have a second set of molds and mixture sent to me. Pay very careful attention to lifting lips up and over the molds. That being said, Retainers Direct was extremely responsive to questions and to reviewing impressions (via a text message with picture) before I sent in final impressions. Communication was excellent throughout mailings and tracking. Excellent customer service. Retainers fit perfectly once they arrived.

The retainers fit pretty good but very tight. I tried to wear them at night but could not get used to the excess saliva that accumulated in the retainer and my mouth. I felt like I had to keep sucking on it to keep it clear and doing that was uncomfortable. The retainers were well made but I just can wear them.

Thank you for the honest review. If the retainers are just too tight you can trim them as long as you stay away from the teeth. Shorter retainers have less retention and tend to be more comfortable on some people. I am not sure about the saliva issue but I think you will get used to that over time. We offer a 100% money back guarantee , just email us smile@retainersdirect and we can handle that for you.

Finally, I am satisfied.

Thank you for the review and the honest input. I agree that the impression process is not a slam dunk but it can be mastered pretty simply by following directions and paying attention to details. Sorry it was difficult but so pleased you are satisfied in the end. Please let me know what I can do to elevate "pleased" to RAVING FAN:)

It took a few extra putty purchases to get the impressions needed, but the end results are great. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again in the future.

Outstanding Service - Read all Directions and Leave the Molds In the Tray After Making Impression!
This is an updated review to my original one after completing the entire process. First and foremost, the customer service is outstanding. I had some issues, but they provided the orthodontist's personal phone number so I could text photos of my impressions when I had trouble with the lower ones. Seriously, what other company does that?
The problem initially was me, as I read the directions on the box, but missed the paper inside the box with the complete directions, including NOT to remove the mold from the tray; I tried to remove it so I could use extra putty to make another one "just in case," and tore it. In my defense, my retainers are more than 15 years old and I don't even recall the process of getting them made at the original orthodontist's ...
On a repeat try the upper mold was easy, but for whatever reason I had trouble with the lower mold and it took 3 attempts (after ordering new putty), but that's when the orthodontist provided his direct contact info and reviewed pictures.
The end result is the upper one does hurt a little and feel tight, but my old one was very old and worn and may have let my teeth shift some, so I'm persisting. If the problem continues, though, I have no doubt the orthodontist will send me a new set at no charge. They guarantee satisfaction.
I offer the suggestion to the company that the part about leaving impressions in the molds should be big, bold and upfront, both on the box and in the printed directions.

I am sorry that you struggled with the directions. We do not want you to take the impressions out of the trays because the tray is the support to the impressions. The only reason you would take the set impression material out of the tray is to redo the impression in the instance that the first try was not ideal. The "wiggle" , that was mentioned in the instructions, was to break the seal and allow the impression to come out of the mouth. To clarify, you should take the impressions and then leave the impression material in the trays and simply put them in the addressed blue bag and drop them in the mail.

Retainers arrived in a timely manner
Retainers arrived in a timely manner. Bottoms fit perfectly but top is not as snug and is slightly off a little. Did 2 impressions for the top as the 1st did not look good to me. 2nd impression was much better but seems not enough impression material goes into the 2 front teeth mold. Considering getting a new top retainer .

Thank you Gary for the review. Let me know if you want to try again on the upper retainer and i will send out more impression material.

Your company serves a large and very…
Your company serves a large and very expanding Business.
Two things that went wrong for me.:and Recommendations...
1: The "How to do the impressions was vague and NOT Specific enough. Should the Front and Back go up at same time or does the Back get pushed up First????" Visa versa for the Bottoms.
I found a Video on YouTube better than yours
2: NEVER use the US Postal System as they took too long for me to get and way to long for you to receive and then back to me...It took over 2 weeks for everything...Was very worried that going this long without will cause separating of teeth
Fed X may cost a little more ...But if you use them, costumers will be happier even if you raise the Cost a little
The average COST at an in house Orthodontist for retainers is $300. And they are ready that afternoon. A ONE day experience.
This is just info you may use to stay competitive in this growing market .

Thank you Bill for the constructive criticism and the great review. This is very valuable because I rarely get detailed info on how we can improve. Please let me know which video you saw that was more helpful so I can incorporate that info into our directions. As far as shipping goes, USPS is by far the most reasonably priced and generally is fairly reliable. I will revisit other options but may be cost prohibitive as I cover shipping costs three ways. Thank you again and I will work to get better
